What official site? --KilMichaelMcC 09:51, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

That site flat-out states that it's a fansite.--Rosicrucian 15:14, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Where exactly?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.18.160.11 (talkcontribs){{#if:| {{{2}}}|}}.
At the bottom of the page: "This is a fan website and has no affiliation to Cartoon Network or Hasbro. Please visit their offical sites by clicking on their logos. Website Owned by Transformers At The Moon" --KilMichaelMcC 08:43, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
That site also calls Lugnut Lugnutz, so it's not a good source. -Hepathos 19:08, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

This is the first time a garbage truck Transformer actually gets a toy. It's an actual alt-mode that hasn't been done as a toy before! ...and I'm more excited about that than I should be. --Nemesis Primal 06:35, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Well actually, the show synopsys says that he transform from a pile of garbage, not FROM a garbage truck, so I don't reeally know how he will be look like. --Hepathos 07:46, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
I suspect one of those giant garbage-can bots that were playing each other like steel drums at the concert.--76.20.88.10 22:09, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

I read that he was definitely a garbage truck somewhere. I'm not sure where, though, then again it was probably from that fansite mentioned in above comments. I doubt he'd be one of those dustbin-bots. They're robots anyway, and humanoid at that, (two arms, two legs), and so wouldn't make a very good alternate mode. Thyunda 11:16, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Motorbike

[edit]

Did anyone notice the motorbike that Wreck-Car threw to Bumblebee ? Retroqqq 16:18, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

It's already in the episode trivia.--RosicrucianTalk 16:18, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey, hey

[edit]

Would it be cool with everyone if I were to track down and FUCKING STAB the next person who claims that some arbitrary thing in Animated is a Gurren Lagaan reference? - Chris McFeely 20:51, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Your ideas intrigue me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.--RosicrucianTalk 21:56, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Watch out, they might call you anti-Japanese! —Interrobang 23:46, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Look, just because the majority of Japanese -original TF fiction sucks liquid shit... --M Sipher 03:25, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Hey, don't hate on Kiss Players. You're being intolerant toward pedophiles. - Semysane 08:44, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Japanese TF fiction was a stinking quagmire long before KP ever came into the scene. KP was only a symptom of a far greater problem that's been festering for two decades. --M Sipher 14:33, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

A couple of quotes from Derrick Wyatt's blog on this subject worth pointing out:

In response to question abouth whether Gurren Lagann was an influence on Headmaster's design:

  • "About Gurren Lagann: No, actually. I hadn't seen Gurren Lagann until after we had finished most of the first season of TFA. I wish I had, because I would have had the Headmaster robot transform with stubby little legs. And maybe Masterson's head popping up out of the top of the robot.

And further elaboration:

  • "About the inspiration and influences on TFA: I'm always inspired by Gainax's designs. They are by far my favorite animation studio in the world. I just hadn't seen anything on Gurren Lagann when we started TFA. We've definitely been inspired by that and Diebuster since. Prowl and Soundwave's glasses are a nod to 2000 AD's ABC Warriors. That and Mighty Orbots were the biggest influences on the designs."

So to some degree they've "definitely been inspired" by Gurren Lagann, not in the intial design phase but subsequently. Perhaps we oughta dial back the knee-jerk "THAT'S NOT A REFERENCE ARRGGH" reactions just a bit?

(P.S. I have no clue what "Gurren Lagann" is. Some anime, I'm assuming.) --KilMichaelMcC 09:00, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

This fella was claiming Wreck-Gar himself was a Gurren Lagann reference. So I feel perfectly comfortable knee-jerking here. If anything his TV head may be a Gainax reference, but we're talking more FLCL here.--RosicrucianTalk 14:11, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Was directed more at the original comment from Chris McFeely than your specific edit of this page. As it seems entirely possibly that the next time someone claims something is a Gurren Lagann reference, they may be right, and if so shouldn't be greeted with stab-rage. --KilMichaelMcC 14:30, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Well I'm just saying, yes now that we're in the second season there is a chance that Wyatt is throwing some of those our way. It's just that the Gurren Lagann fanboys think everything is a Gurren Lagann reference. I think that's what McFeely's getting torqued about. They seem to ignore that nearly anything existed before.--RosicrucianTalk 14:48, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Like the kamina shades. Which was claimed (in a waaah mean wiki whine on Derrick's blog) to have never been applied to robots before Gurren Lagann... meanwhile, I have some MegaMan/RockMan games from over a decade ago that say other-god-damn-wise. --M Sipher 15:04, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
In this case I suspect it was "Oh he's red! And orange! And his chest kind of looks like a face! Maybe! If you squint! Total Gurren Lagann reference!"--RosicrucianTalk 15:18, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, and the name is actually twice as long and impossible to spell. But seriously, Mighty Orbots? I fangirled the moment I read that, so thank you. (Here's hoping for upcoming TFs named Bo, Boo, Crunch, Tor, Bort and Ohno... preferably a combiner team.) - Semysane 09:12, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

...don't spoil my stabbing. :( - Chris McFeely 17:38, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Did you guys saw that every robot has a face in this show? And in Gurren Lagann, the robots are called Ganmen, because they had faces on their chest? Totally referece, rite guise? (Now I feel all dirty.)--84.3.90.174 18:23, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
There was a caption there going "I AM WRECK GAR AND I AM A GURREN LAGAAN REFERENCE!! huh... what is gurren lagaan?" to mock people that were saying his "pointing" pose was a gurren lagaan reference, it was a sarcastic caption, pretty much in the same way that Wreck gar stated to be hailing Megatron and didnt knew who he was.

Red-eyed Wreck-Gar

[edit]

Hmm, do we need a pic of red-eyed Wreck-Gar, to show his eeevil side? JW 16:10, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

"It's time to let your babies grow up to be Cowboys" or "It's time to let the bedbugs bite" or "Bite the hand that feeds you" for the caption?

Captions

[edit]

Eh...much as I appreciate the "Dare to Be Stupid" running gag, I actually liked the variety-influenced captions more. Just my two bits.--Apcog 03:15, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

I agree. Not to mention, those captions were put there by the folks who supplied the images. -- Repowers 03:21, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Actually, as the guy who put the images up, I kinda like the new DtBS captions. --ItsWalky 03:25, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
This episode is full of G1 and movie fan wankery, so the DtBS captions are more then fitting here.
I have to agree with that point. Although, it doesn't really help the fact that I'm listening to the soundtrack while I'm doing this and DtBS just so happened to be playing while I was reading the article. Probably a coincidence, or maybe not?... --AWT88 01:54, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
The captions fit perfectly well if you ask me, both in terms of the article's tone and Wreck-Gar's personality. (Undecided) 01:10, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Wow, this has GOT to be one fo the most popular contributions I've made.--Dynamus Prime 01:17, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I posted this just before the meltdown, so I'll try it again. Maybe this time I won't crash the site by doing so. Anyway: not that the "Dare to be Stupid" captions aren't acceptable, but I think we can do better. I mean, come on, Weird Al has a song that's entirely ABOUT garbage! Yes, DTBS is a Transformers reference, but he only mentions it once, and the rest of the time people are talking about his trash. So, Weird Al + garbage = Wreck-Gar. Weird Al + garbage = "Trash Day." To me, it's too good to pass up, but I know people get touchy about captions, so I wanted to float the idea in here first. --Buttbutt 19:45, 23 March 2009 (EDT)

Christmas at Ground Zero

[edit]

It's hard to believe no one's made a joke about this yet, considering how absolutely perfect it is for Human Error 2. Can we find an image of Wreck-Gar with the santa-sack and use a line from the song as a caption?KrytenKoro 21:25, 25 April 2009 (EDT)

You could also use something from "The Night Santa Went Crazy".Monty Prime 21:55, 26 April 2009 (EDT)
If you do use a line, I agree with Monty Prime about "The Night Santa Went Crazy" for the simple reason that I had to listen to it several times before I could understand all the lyrics. I laughed through the entire song (more so than with "Christmas at Ground Zero"). That's just my opinion.--AWT88 23:36, 26 April 2009 (EDT)
The thing is that Wreck-Gar wasn't killing children, but Detroit was a Ground Zero because of the battle. But then again, captions don't always fit.KrytenKoro 00:06, 27 April 2009 (EDT)
I don't think that there were kids getting killed in Santa Went Crazy, only reindeer, and elves. But if upload the image, you pick the caption and nobody should change it. That's the rule.--AWT88 01:10, 27 April 2009 (EDT)

Well, I posted an image, but I'm not really good with captions so first come, first served. --Professor Icepick 16:24, 27 April 2009 (EDT)

Confused

[edit]

If that's what he's going to be referred to instead of his three different factions, should there be a link to Confused? --Ninjabot33 10:27, 27 November 2009 (EST)

He's never actually in the "Confused" faction, so that would be kind of stupid. Just taking a joke too far. Monty Prime 23:08, 28 November 2009 (EST)

Motormaster

[edit]

Not sure if anyone else noticed, but other than the colors and face, Animated Wreck-Gar actually looks a lot like G1 Motormaster. Should we add that under notes?

Superman 22:24, 19 May 2012 (EDT)

No. Because he doesn't. --Detour 22:23, 19 May 2012 (EDT)
Ok, I'll look up pictures to try and prove my point.

Superman 22:24, 19 May 2012 (EDT)

Wreck-Gar: http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/5849/tfawreckgar1.jpg

Motormaster: http://tfwiki.net/w2/images2/c/c8/MTMTEMotormaster.jpg Other than Wreck-Gar's feet not being he front of the cab, they do look a lot alike to me. Look at the box head, the similar detailing on his chest, the round cylinder on his arm(though for Wreck-Gar it's actually a wheel and not just a random circle). I seriuosly think we should put this down. Superman 22:29, 19 May 2012 (EDT)

No. --Detour 22:59, 19 May 2012 (EDT)

Should he be dead?

[edit]

So as we all know, at the end of the series, Prowl sacrifices himself by summoning all of the allspark fragments, including the one in Starscream's forehead, and seeing as how that was the only thing keeping him alive, when it was removed, Starscream died... again. Anyway, my point it, what happened to the other fragment created characters, such as the constructicons, the Starscream clones, Blurr cube (Though I'm not sure how cannon that is) and of course, Wreck Gar? Come to think of it, the whole Blurr cube thing could have never happened for a multitude of reasons, but that is for another time. Anyway, back to my original point. Should Wreck Gar be dead? -- Maximus Prime Toa of Earth (talk) 15:47, 16 February 2017 (EST)

Prowl specifically states that he isn't able to pull in all of the fragments, and that's why he has to add his own spark to the mix, so with that "out" in place, no, there's no reason to assume all the other fragment-animated Transformers were killed in the process. - Chris McFeely (talk) 15:52, 16 February 2017 (EST)

Alright then, that makes sense. Thank you. -- Maximus Prime Toa of Earth (talk) 15:54, 16 February 2017 (EST)

Main pic

[edit]

We could stand to get a main pic that isn't from the 5 minutes he was a Decepticon. Escargon (talk) 16:24, 5 June 2021 (EDT)

Done. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 16:56, 5 June 2021 (EDT)
