Template talk:Charstubfiction

From MediaWiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Proposition... "charstub" is for pages that are missing, well, a lot of different stuff. To break things up and make it easier for people who are more bent towards either the fiction or toys to find pages they can add to... I propose sub-categories "Character stubs missing fiction" and "Character stubs missing toys".

I don't know what image/quote combo would work best for toys yet, though. --M Sipher 01:11, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Sounds like an okay idea to me. And I love the template. --Steve-o 05:28, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
I thought the quote was "I'm here to tell you about the Transformers!"? --FFN 09:46, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Just gotta figure out a suitable toy one. Hmmm....

Pretend Rad there is... uh... and image of a Scramble City combiner toy missing an arm. I've had people suggest mistransformed toys, but that's not really what I'm after... --M Sipher 07:49, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

You want to put a template box that big, in the middle of the article? -Derik 14:40, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Oh, don't start that up again...
It doesn't need to be as small as {{notebox}}, but if it's going to be appearing mid-article I'd like to at least trim some of the padding from this template. This is what page 4 of the Waspinator article looks like if you print it. Messagebox is just too big to use in the middle of articles!
Incidentally Siph, I love this picture of rad. Any chance you could upload a png version? -Derik 16:41, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
I will miss Kup though if we switch over.--RosicrucianTalk 16:10, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Kup is currently doing duty as the {{stub}} image, so he's around. --M Sipher 16:22, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Aha. Didn't see that he'd been switched around with Animated Megatron. Keen.--RosicrucianTalk 16:24, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

... AHA! I got it! Kenji with the Magnus watch! It's an in-fiction depiction of a character with TF merchandise, from a source that -I do beleive- has not been used in a template yet! Plus there's symmetry with the Rad image for fiction! (I think they're even poitned in opposite directions.)Okay, the text will probably end up a generic "Collect them all!", but still... I think this works. --M Sipher 22:38, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

I could see perhaps a Wreck-Gar image with "Collect and save!" as the caption.--RosicrucianTalk 01:07, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
I'd like to avoid the G1 cartoon and Marvel comics. --M Sipher 01:24, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Then obviously we must wait until Weird Al says it in Animated. Because you know he will...--RosicrucianTalk 01:28, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Of course, Vehicon Jetstorm has out-and-out said "Gotta catch 'em all"... --ItsWalky 01:44, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
I like the Jetstorm idea. --Spectre 01:54, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
I had considered it... but I like the bizarre meta-ness of the Japanese kids with the damn watches. Though I think Makoto fits the space better. --M Sipher 01:57, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
How about BM-Rattrap, using that quote from "The Weak Component"? That one where he realizes he's got no weapons?Darktruth 20:03, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
No. Besides, we already have a Rattrap-decorated template. --M Sipher 20:07, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Could someone convert this to .png format? It would probably be better to have the background transparent. --FortMax 02:20, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Can we PLEASE go back to the Megatron version of this. Everytime Rad I want to delete him. GWolf

No. --M Sipher 18:02, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
