Categories
[edit]A friendly heads-up... make sure to check to see if a page is in a sub-category that is already in other categories.
More specifically, the "Mayhem Suppression Squad" category is itself in both "Decepticons" and "Shattered Glass characters", so any page in the "Mayhem" category doesn't also need those latter two categories (since it's already in them just by being in the "Mayhem" category). --Jeysie 07:38, 22 July 2009 (EDT)
Shattered Glass To-Dos
[edit]I ended up compliling a list from my notes that you may or may not find useful: User:Jeysie/Shattered Glass --Jeysie 11:29, 23 July 2009 (EDT)

Terrorcon Descriptions
[edit]...you read that TFCC magazine thread, I take it? XD (I recognize my own quirky ways of phrasing things...)
Actually, I would have been more than willing to add the basic descriptions myself, but I'm still a little fuzzy on what constitutes "giving out too much Fanclub information before the month's wait". --Jeysie 08:50, 8 August 2009 (EDT)
- I actually read those Terrorcon descriptions off TFW2005, so unless you're friends with someone whose user name is Scaleface, then no. ---Blackout- 09:43, 8 August 2009 (EDT)
- *goes to find and look at that thread* Ah. Yeah, that's what I wrote on the TFCC boards. *guesses Scaleface must be the same fellow as primalrage/mignash* --Jeysie 10:07, 8 August 2009 (EDT)
- Sometimes, I hate not being able to join TFCC. ---Blackout- 10:08, 8 August 2009 (EDT)
- *pats* Well, that's one reason why I started working on the SG section... to spread a little of the love. *hopes one day they'll collect everything into a book to sell it to non-TFCC folks too* --Jeysie 10:40, 8 August 2009 (EDT)

- I think what we have now is sufficiently brief to act as a placeholder for a month or so, while not being totally useless. -- Repowers 10:23, 8 August 2009 (EDT)
- Good to know, thanks. :) --Jeysie 10:40, 8 August 2009 (EDT)
Certainly not elegant...
[edit]...but oh to hell with that, let's not spoil the fun! So, who's gonna make a template from this pic? :) -- Silvery 15:14, 2 September 2009 (EDT)
- Not me. I'm not nearly that savvy with Wiki coding yet. ---Blackout- 15:16, 2 September 2009 (EDT)
Banner things
[edit]Just a personal opinion, but shouldn't they use an image that somehow relates to the topic, rather then just threatening images like Jazz? There's got to be a TF image that just shouts "Obscure probably not worth mentioning" somewhere User:Eire 17.45 Sept 3 09 (UTC)
- Those are just prototypes. I'll try and dig up something. ---Blackout- 12:49, 3 September 2009 (EDT)

Image formats
[edit]You're not supposed to save images in .psd format, that's just a template file to make Photoshop editing easier and can't actually be displayed (as far as I know) by the wiki. You should open that file in GIMP and save it as a .jpg. -Mazenoise 14:28, 16 September 2009 (EDT)
- If I may butt in:
- Here's a compilation of supported file types (by default)
- And *.psd is displayed as a pretty white rectangle. -- Silvery 14:41, 16 September 2009 (EDT)
- Alright, it's done. Try telling me that's not in the right format now.
- Also, don't expect to see that GoBox in action soon: the chances of it randomly appearing are one in three hundred and twenty-five. I'm not making those figures up, that's the chances a GoBox has to get displayed.
- Now I gotta view a couple hundred pages, to see every GoBox, and to compensate for the possibility of some GoBoxes appearing more than once. ---Blackout- 15:01, 16 September 2009 (EDT)
- Makes me wanna upload my own. ;)
- Speaking of chances, I've just had three "Void" Go-Boxes in a row... -- Silvery 15:04, 16 September 2009 (EDT)
- You need to add it to the template file, else the chances of it appearing are exactly zero. -Mazenoise 15:08, 16 September 2009 (EDT)
...you two?
[edit]- I think there is a misunderstanding here, i just edited an (empty) caption that i just happen to come across on Ironhide's page, and you revert it. I'm fine with that. But why do you say that you keep on editing my edits? You only did that once now, and i have nothing to do with that other guy who actualy was editing that page a few times. What give man?--Sunjumper 16:07, 17 September 2009 (EDT)
- That was mainly intended for Anon Guy.
- Also, why do I imagine you sounding like Animated Jazz now? ---Blackout- 01:30, 18 September 2009 (EDT)
- Well, i know you have it against the Anon guy, but still you give me a warning for "changing" captions? The last time i did that was a year ago. I'm removing it because it's not justified.(I do tend to speak like Jazz on msn, tough)--Sunjumper 06:25, 18 September 2009 (EDT)
- Sorry, I meant adding captions without adding any new content. My half-awake brain didn't register that at the time.
- Unfortunately, now I fear you've gotten yourself tangled in something bigger. ---Blackout- 11:33, 18 September 2009 (EDT)
- Sunjumper's been editing since March (at least). I think he's established enough to be able to change captions. :) --abates 20:11, 18 September 2009 (EDT)
- We do seem to have a new cop of high-value editors coming up (yay!) and I admit, I'm still learning names m'self. -Derik 20:26, 18 September 2009 (EDT)
- That's not the problem. He put in a caption WITHOUT ADDING NEW CONTENT TO THE PAGE AS WELL. I reverted it. I put a caption bastard on his talk page the next morning. For the wrong reasons, yes, but I was only half-awake at the time. He FREAKIN' DELETES IT. See what the problem is now? ---Blackout- 02:43, 19 September 2009 (EDT)
- Can you settle down a bit? In any case, I don't think it's an unbreakable rule that you must only add captions to the pages where you've added new content, although I'm sure some good judgment is appropriate. And I agree, you should not have put the captionbastard tag on his page in the first place. -Noviere 02:49, 19 September 2009 (EDT)
- The rule of not adding a caption unless you've also added content to the article is bent a little for established regulars. If someone's already proven that they're at the wiki mostly to add actual information, they can add a caption or two sometimes. The "caption bastard" is mainly meant to discourage people who never do anything but fiddle with the captions. --Jeysie 06:15, 19 September 2009 (EDT)
- Well, obviously, some people interpret some rules differently than others. ---Blackout- 06:21, 19 September 2009 (EDT)

Two words: "Chill" and "Pill".
Seriously, read over your talk posts (and some of your edit summaries). You're coming across as REALLY agressive. - SanityOrMadness 13:54, 19 September 2009 (EDT)

- Well, at least your heart's at the right place. I'm sorry that you've worked yourself up so bad that i reverted something on my talkpage, but it was realy not justyfied(note how i still let the rest on the page?). again, i'm sorry. We're buds, right?--Sunjumper 13:40, 21 September 2009 (EDT)

Caption Policy
[edit]Just to clarify based on your latest edit summary, changing captions if you haven't otherwise made significant contributions to the wiki is a no-no. If you've done a lot of other useful edits—fixing typos, adding new info and/or images, starting or expanding articles, etc.—you earn the reward of adding/changing captions. (Of course, just because you're allowed doesn't mean you should...) This isn't to say you did something wrong; Black Mage doesn't appear to have made a whole lot of contributions yet, and his alteration didn't really improve anything, so your decision was proper. Your description in the edit summary wasn't quite right, is all.
Edit: However, Mista Tee has done more than enough edits here to earn the right to add captions, so I restored the one he put on G1 Scourge's page.--Apcog 09:36, 23 September 2009 (EDT)
- Whoops. ---Blackout- 12:52, 23 September 2009 (EDT)

300px
[edit]That is the standard width of toy section images. Why do we spend most of our time reverting you? --ItsWalky 10:57, 24 October 2009 (EDT)
- OK, sorry. ---Blackout- 10:57, 24 October 2009 (EDT)
- To elaborate further, 250-300pixels are the standard width of horizontal images. Vertical (tall) images are a case-by-case basis. --FFN 11:25, 24 October 2009 (EDT)
Copying images from character articles
[edit]Your comment/edit summary on the Reunification: Part 4 article was "Dude, seriously? Are you just copying these from the character articles?". So, is there anything wrong with me doing that? The wikicode should look the same anyway, even in diffrent articles. Or maybe I'm just getting some sort of misunderstanding (being a new editor here)?Item42 15:40, 12 February 2010 (EST)
