Also -- the wiki is a reference source, not a place for making self-tribute fan pages. Please focus on making useful contributions rather than a million tweaks to your user page. -- Repowers 14:37, 2 July 2013 (EDT)
Hey Repowers, guess which button I just clicked?
FA template
[edit]Again, you can't use the featured article template on your user page, even for cosmetic reasons, as it means your page appears in Category:Featured articles, which we don't want happening. Jalaguy 14:34, 2 July 2013 (EDT) Thank You.
Question
[edit]Can I have an essay I wrote against the Live Action Movies on my page? I mean, I can stand not using a FA sign, but isn't it my own personal page?
- It is not your personal wiki. This isn't a social media site. STOP. Contribute actual information to actual articles rather than cluttering the Recent Changes list with a poorly-scrawled manifester on your userpage that people are not going to read. --M Sipher 15:37, 2 July 2013 (EDT)
Unfair
[edit]This is so unfair, all my stuff gets deleted! Why can't I persononalize my own slagging page? Why am I supposed to have only 'actual ifno' on my page? Why on earth would people come in and look on my user page for fragging info? I can't have an opinion and have it on my page? Poorly scrawled? Do YOU have any actual writing skills yourself, Sipher?
You know what? I'm going to 'clutter up' the recent changes with as many changes as I please. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ironhide6102 (talk • contribs).
- I think you'll find that M Sipher was talking about adding information to actual TFWiki articles, not to your user page. TFWiki is not a place where you come to write opinion pieces about Transformers, it's a place where you come to improve factual articles about Transformers. Jalaguy 16:23, 2 July 2013 (EDT)
- I'm pretty sure "I'm going to 'clutter up' the recent changes with as many changes as I please" is a bannable offense. -LV 17:28, 2 July 2013 (EDT)
Ha, listen to this, from the 'User page etiquitte': "A user's page is 'theirs,' and editing another user's page for any reason but the obvious (spelling, fixing links) is considered rude. If you wish to get someone's attention, make a comment on their user talk page." Listen to that! Yes! I can use that essay: full proof! Take that! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ironhide6102 (talk • contribs).
- Uh, yes, and the only edits I made your user page were to fix a link, and remove a template that you couldn't use. And that passage in no way supports your being able to post an opinion essay. It refers only to what other people are allowed to do to it. If I use an extract of my own:
- "While you are certainly allowed to make changes to your user page, that should not be the majority of your work on this wiki. We are not Facebook. Users who do little more than edit their user page will be warned."
- Jalaguy 16:34, 2 July 2013 (EDT)
Does this mean I can still post it? Ironhide 6102 16:38, 2 July 2013 (EDT)
- I've seen user pages with worse, so you can probably leave it there (I am not staff so can't say definitively), but it shouldn't be the main thing you're doing here and you shouldn't be constantly editing it. Like I said earlier, TFWiki isn't a forum, or a blogging site, or a 'make your own webpage' place - your reason for being here should be making constructive, useful edits to actual (non-user) articles. Jalaguy 16:49, 2 July 2013 (EDT)
At this point, you are on notice. Start contributing to actual articles rather than your userpage. Do not blank your user talk page. And don't aggressively argue with a mod on what you will and won't do. --M Sipher 18:34, 2 July 2013 (EDT)
I am trying to edit 'Black River Elementary School', but will I get banned if I don't edit any other pages?Ironhide 6102 18:37, 2 July 2013 (EDT)
