Ok, I replaced it and re-uploaded it. It is now Image:Premium_movie_OP.jpg.

Monacoizing templates

Hi -- I saw that you "Monacoized" some templates... What was happening to the existing templates? I'm surprised that there were problems -- as far as I know, what happens in the content space should be exactly the same no matter what skin you're using. So I want to figure out whether this is a Transformers problem, or a global Wikia problem. -- Danny<staff /> (talk) 15:43, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Lines through picture frames

Okay, I'm glad to know that the template problem was fixable. While we're on the subject, do you know why header lines seem to go through the picture frames here? I haven't seen that on any other wiki -- I think it's something in the Transformers css that's making the frames not wrap correctly. Do you know anything about that? -- Danny<staff /> (talk) 19:20, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Isaac Sumdac

Why was my edit labeled "caption bastardry"?KrytenKoro 05:22, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Because it did nothing but shuffle the captions, and you're an editor who is relatively new and hasn't contributed much yet. As such, it's the general practice of this Wiki to revert people who do that until they're a bit better known and have contributed more. The term "caption bastardry" has stuck due to the template that Derik cooked up for talkpage notices for chronic abusers of it.--RosicrucianTalk 05:27, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Rise of the Constructicons

Where did you get the information on the number of CC's? I'm not saying your wrong or anything, I'm just wondering because it hasn't been shown yet and I'm not buying that whole "show in asia" first part. (Fossilgojira 00:10, 11 May 2008 (UTC))

Yes it hasn't shown yet. However, there being only two Constructicons has been confirmed for some time.--RosicrucianTalk 00:13, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
It has been shown in the Middle East. The actual problem is that all information is second-hand and we have no way to verify it. —Interrobang 00:19, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Figures; And I knew that Scrapper and MM where already confirmed( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnG0YHmJ0Ys ) , I just don't know where the original leak was from. And why the middle east of all places, are you sure your source is right? (Fossilgojira 00:34, 11 May 2008 (UTC))
It's not like the middle east hasn't gotten stuff before North America and Europe before. Red Powerlinx Thrust anyone? --FortMax 01:15, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Plus they were confirmed in late 2007/maybe januari 2008 on transformersanimated.com,well,scrapper anyway. But nobody went to that site for news yet.86.87.28.191 18:30, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Lockdown

I am sorry that you dont like the list I added to Lockdowm's profile. I am new to this Wiki and I wanted to try somthing.

Animated Cast Page

I'm sorry that it seemed like I was getting into an edit war - Lockdown didn't seem to fit the criteria given for "guests", and so I was trying to place him in an appropriate category and make a compromise.

Constructicons - at the one time I called it as hypocrisy, there was nothing indicating that one-shot characters could be moved out of the Guest category if they had a sub-group, much less that the sub-group had been named at that point. It had nothing to do with "wanting to seem savvy", and honestly seemed like hypocrisy to me. Once the reasoning was explained, you'll notice that I tried to do the same with Blurr once, and then dropped it, once the details of the reasoning was explained.

Blurr - while it may have been "revealed" in the Dubai episodes, there are other sources than that (the blog by Wyatt), and that is what I was basing those on - and once the rationale for excluding that source was explained to me, you'll notice that I stopped (though honestly, if the rationale for leaving him out of the Elite Guard is that that hasn't been confirmed in-show yet, he shouldn't even be on the list, since he hasn't had a speaking role). As soon as the reason that Dubai info could not be revealed, even on talk pages, was explained to me, I stopped adding that info as well.

Starscream Clones - I explained that I added those (who were not spoilers) because they did have speaking roles and unique character sheets, and that they "might" not all be voiced by Tom Kenny.

I even reverted a few who were adding info that was truly spoilers, such as edit, and I don't believe the edits I made after that point be considered "spoilers" or even "edit warring", as I immediately tried to explain my edit and reach a compromise with the other editor. Honestly, most of my edits that you seem to interpret as me being a jackass are just me not knowing the unwritten rules of such articles - as soon as these things are explained to me, I comply, and if even that is a problem, I try to find compromise.

So, I'm sorry if I seemed like I was trying to spoil you guys (I'm used to wiki's where foreign language info is snapped up as soon as it appears, I honestly thought I was helping), and I just wanted to explain the actions which you seemed to have such a problem with, so that I can go back to editing without people hating me. Truce?KrytenKoro 06:47, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

How is the fact Starscream has clones not a spoiler? A single clone- sure- that's obvious when viewing A Fistful of Energon- but seeing lots of edits (and I've seen plenty) in the recent changes for clones plural ruins the surprise at te end of the episode if you didn't notice that the second one (who was acting in-character) has a slightly different color scheme.
There were two clones in FoE. The episode has aired in Canada, the US and the UK. The "hot" clone had a colour scheme just as obviously different as the purple one as soon as he touched down in front of the Autobots. If you were genuinely ignorant of the Dubai airings, you wouldn't even think twice - you're second-guessing based on info you "shouldn't" have.
Your reasoning has failed. Have a nice day. - SanityOrMadness 17:49, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

I had the ending to Autoboot camp ruined for me-- despite avoiding any articles for Animated characters that were getting edits that day because someone posted a new section on a talk page with the Big Spoiler as the title-- and thus it shows up in the Recent Changes page for everyone to see. It's about as tactful as posting on a messageboard SPOILER VADER IS LUKE'S DAD! It doesn't matter that you marked it as a spoiler- the fact it's in the subjectline makes it impossible to not see. Just like the Arr-Tard who let everyone see "Elita-1 (Animated) had been redirected to Blackarachnia (Animated)".
Some edits, by the very nature of doing them are in fact spoilers. I accept that I'm gonna see activity on the wiki that might spoil who the major characters are in a new episode-- but I also expect that other editors will exercise some basic consideration to avoid slapping their dicks in my face with major spoilers!
You don't have to be the first one to add Heath Ledger's death-date to Wikipedia. A cast page is a list, it will not suffer from the lack of in-depth attention dozens of users can give it if you wait a week to add new characters to it.
Consider for a moment that most of the frequent editors on this wiki are fans too, and would like to be able to enjoy the episodes without having to live in the UK, or constantly refresh mininova waiting for the encode to come up. I downloaded Autoboot Camp 3 hours after the torrent went up, and I still got spoiled by an inconsiderate user before the download ended. -Derik 10:22, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
And I apologize for that edit. That one was made before I learned that unlike wikipedia, the policy was not just spoiler warnings but a complete absence of the info - and even then, I posted that it was a spoiler notice, without including any of the spoiler info in the edit comment.
Also, if I had known that having the clones on the cast page at all was considered a spoiler, I would not have put them there, but that was never stated as a reason to take them off - what was stated was that they were one time characters who wouldn't come back.KrytenKoro 17:43, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Dude, your reading comprehension leaves a lot to be desired. I said that those specific two clones you kept insisting should go on the cast page were one time characters because they were living bombs that Starscream detonated. I'm frankly sick and tired of you trying to rules lawyer this wiki when our guidelines aren't that complicated at all.--RosicrucianTalk 18:00, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
...what? I'm saying that "the characters are spoilers" was never a reason that you gave for the characters not to be there - that you said it was about them being bombs, that they were one-off characters, and that they wouldn't be reappearing. The only time that I know of that I did anything approaching "rules lawyering" was with Blurr and Lockdown - the first of which I immediately accepted the reasoning against, and the second I tried to reach compromise on. I'm trying to explain why I did what I had done and apologize.KrytenKoro 02:57, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Frenzy

You don't think so? I recall hearing that as being a reference before any others had been mentioned, ever, anywhere. And if it wasn't, why did Frenzy suddenly use two English words? I'm just wondering how that is not a reference to the originals, considering some of the others that are much more ... thin. VigilancePrime

As I stated, the entire goddamned fiction section is about him being a ship, due to us having moved the article unceremoniously without bothering to rewrite it. As such, it looks unprofessional and sloppy to not at least note that he's the frigging ship.--RosicrucianTalk 18:15, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Mini-bio at the top of the fiction section, after the spoiler tag, just like we have for Blaster because he's so different in different continuities. -Derik 23:44, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Suppose you're right. I still don't know who moved the article that soon.--RosicrucianTalk 23:46, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
It's a mess, and the history isn't very helpful, since it doesnt' always make moves as clear as you'd think. :p -Derik 23:52, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
There are two ways to find it out. The first and simplest - as Derik alludes - is to look at the page history. The other is to use the move log. Colour me unsurprised at the culprit. - SanityOrMadness talk page 00:02, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
In an effort to be more in line with you guys' wishes, some of the edits I've done are reversions of caption changes to the original caption. Is this correct, or should they only be reverted if change by anons or new editors? Should I not touch captions at all and just stick to what tiny bit of content I add? (This is in this section because one of these pages is the Omega Supreme article, and the one who changed the captions seems to be a higher editor than me, so I don't want to be presumptuous). Thanks!KrytenKoro 05:53, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Reverting captions is, broadly speaking, always fine. I occasionally change one if I think the one I have is demonstrably better. I've also had such changes reverted by another editor who disagreed. At that point my response is usually- "meh!" It's kinda a judgement call. -Derik 06:22, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
I've responded over on your Talk page. - Jackpot 06:43, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Monobook css

I've noticed that you and User:SanityOrMadness have been working on custom css for Monobook, with some impressive results so far; how's that coming along? I just noticed that nothing's been said for half a week now, and I definitely think it's a great route to go with. As I've said, and a few others as well, it'd be very nice if when moving, we had something shiny and visually distinctive to show everyone, instead of just going back to colourless Monobook. --Suki Brits 00:15, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

My last revision is here, and is current as of July 4. The backdrop is still bugging me a bit so I've been meaning to tweak it, and I'm probably going to take a page from SoM's latest backdrop and expand my own backdrop to 1024 to try and provide a more elegant transition to the dark blue. As I mentioned to him here, I've been trying to keep the big blue Teletraan console as a link back to our original masthead because I do think it's apt. I do have some more tweaks I will be trying soon, but I can only edit graphics when I'm at home, while I'm on the wiki just editing articles at work.
I do think some of what has stalled both SoM and I is that we're mostly each other's echo chambers on this. It's been tricky to get the rest of the wiki to weigh in and provide too much in the way of feedback. Not that we've been promoting it or anything, just that nobody really chimes in except occasionally Derik.
I did leave some notes for myself (or anyone so inclined "MediaWiki talk:Sidebar") as to how we could do something similar to the Monaco sidebar if we were so inclined (IE one that uses a more readily editable sourcefile, which is a fairly documented alteration we could do). If anyone wants to look for decentish documentation on how to fold, spindle, and mutilate a standard MediaWiki, I've found that most of that stuff has been moved from Wikipedia where it was originally hosted to the Wikimedia foundation metawiki (where the sidebar links I mentioned are hosted).

But yeah, probably could get things rolling in a more useful direction if we got more people in on it. Lemme know what you think.--RosicrucianTalk 00:37, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
I'll see if I can't get some other people to help chime in. I just wanted to make sure you knew that even if nobody's talking, it's good work so far and a good plan. And for what it's worth, I definitely do very strongly approve of keeping Teletraan in the masthead; it's functionally iconic, and I think we definitely need that, especially since we plan on changing it radically visually in other ways.

I took a look at the sidebar links you gave, and I've been reading up on the skinning documentation. Ideally, what I'd like to have available to show offsite soon is a custom skin that's basically Monobook, but does incorporate one of the few good ideas that Monaco brought in: a larger sidebar that actually emphasizes content. Plus, working in the random page images in a way that's not quite as confusing as tying them in with the search. --Suki Brits 06:12, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
As each sidebar box can be addressed as a separate entity in the CSS, it's completely possible that we could just make one box a "get to know so and so" random rotation. Essentially doing exactly what you're doing with the Search right now, but as its own box. Given the groundwork already laid, it doesn't look like a difficult proposition. Only real restriction seems to be making sure that any includes we use are already in the MediaWiki namespace.--RosicrucianTalk 06:21, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Skin request

Would you please design a background skin for the Digimon Wiki using this background, or, if it would work better, this one? Uh, yeah, I don't get how relating Animated Soundwave to a (rather cheap in my view) plot device from another continuity from over twenty years ago that shuts down all transformers is funny. While you're right about things trandecending continuities, those things usually serve the same purpose and look similar to it's earlier incarnations (e.g. the Matrix of Leadership). Er, not really. There's not much to add to the article. Let it be said that usually by the time I get to the less-than-nice comments, I have usually given the user in question every chance to correct their behavior and much friendlier reminders elsewhere. If you're only going to judge my interactions on situations where the user has already devolved to insulting my parentage and my sexual proclivities, then you are perhaps only seeing part of the whole picture. However once it has reached that point, my willingness to negotiate with idiots is, appropriately enough, entirely nil.--RosicrucianTalk 17:52, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

For that, I'd say visit "Template talk:Toybox" for the discussion already in progress.--RosicrucianTalk 22:05, 3 October 2008 (EDT)

Snide comments

How tedious. Mind you, judging by the comments on your talk page, it looks like you occupy your time being equally boring. If you have any actual authority- you know, as opposed to just being a Throttlebot with ideas above its posability, then I'd be grateful if you'd delete my account and password from the site. Back when I first came to this Wiki, my particular sense of humour seemed to fit in fairly well with the general wry tone of the place. Since it seems it no longer does- largely I suspect because the sense of humour of the place seems to have become rather more crass and pop-culture based, as opposed to, what's that word? Ah yes, 'funny', and I'm not really interested in changing my style of humour, I don't plan on editing or interacting here again. Since boredom tends to lead people to fiddle with things, I'd prefer it I think if the account no longer existed, so there was no temptation for me to come back. Byeeeee. HoliPrime.

Tech Spec Bar

ROCKS HARD!!! You are my personal hero of the day. I can't wait to see this deployed. --Jimsorenson 16:36, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

Just noticed this comment. Thanks! It's always nice to get something on this page that doesn't involve people berating me for reminding them of the rules. I'm rather fond of that template myself, but if you check "Template talk:Toybox" you'll see we haven't quite found a good place for it in the layout. The kind words are appreciated, though!--RosicrucianTalk 19:17, 21 November 2008 (EST)

Would you be able to help me with something?

I have no skill at image editing, and you seem to be the goto guy for that - do you know how I could get a hold of mugshots for Animated Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Bulkhead, Prowl, and Icy Blitzwing? I want to replace the removed image on my Omega Formation page with a football-play type of thing.KrytenKoro 10:21, 17 November 2008 (EST)

I should have some time to kill this weekend. I'll see what I can come up with.--RosicrucianTalk 19:18, 21 November 2008 (EST)

Hasbro Q&A Question

Given the return of Targetmasters to the Universe line, is there a chance of Headmasters or Powermasters seeing new figures with working gimmicks?--RosicrucianTalk 17:28, 21 November 2008 (EST)

Last month, the following question and answer set was given on the IDW forums:

5.) Will we see more Headmasters toys in Universe 2.0? If so, will they be based on IDW Headmasters? How about a Sunstreaker with headmaster Hunter?

5) I hope we'll be seeing more Headmasters in the future for Universe. If we continue to celebrate all of the different eras of Transformers there will certainly be some more headmasters to redesign. I'm not too sure about seeing a Sunstreaker with Hunter...we had already done a Sunstreaker in Deluxe so having another Sunstreaker offered again just a year later might be tough. But we'll try to get some fun stuff in the line for you guys.

It's not quite what you were asking, but I thought it should be brought to your attention, in the event you might want to rework your present question or ask something else instead. --Monzo 18:51, 22 November 2008 (EST)

Ah, thanks. I hadn't been aware.--RosicrucianTalk 02:23, 23 November 2008 (EST)

Talk pages and why I hate them

If I need to back down on talk page delete suggestions, I humbly will. I always figure that just because I nominate something for deletion, doesn't mean anyone with the power to delete necessarily does, but judges it themselves as well.

But the reason I'm asking for these to be deleted is because of the headache some talk pages have caused. I estimate that I've come across about 25 talk pages that were not with their article. These I either moved or asked deleted if I didn't see a use in keeping them. Not to mention the truckload of talkpages that didn't even have an article. My point is that I rather see no talk page if nothing useful is said on it. A lame joke or something small that has already been solved years ago (like in what tense the article is written) are only there being useless and a risk. Or am I wrong? Also, a lot of these talk pages for whatever reason hold links that are no longer, are not and/or never will be. As I use the Wanted pages list to repair links, these not-wanted links make the work unnecessarily more painful. Hence why I prefer them gone if there is no use to them. Your opinion? Geewunling 14:56, 7 April 2009 (EDT)

Don't get me wrong, here. Your batting record is actually quite good. It's only recently that I've noticed a (very small) handful of talkpages that legitimately go with articles nominated. I have no qualms about deleting the vast majority of the ones you've tagged. In fact, you'll notice that I already have. I only wanted to point out some of the "outdated" ones you've flagged that are genuinely still with articles and thus should probably be preserved.--RosicrucianTalk 15:02, 7 April 2009 (EDT)
I'm not taking any offence. I had actually planned to ask permission for nominating certain things for deletion on the community portal. But then I came across my first talk page not with its article and really was not worth moving and with the crash and server performances taking up so much I went a little too ahead on things. I'll refrain from that for now. I do not believe certain ones should stay preserved, but I also do not believe it's up to me to decide. I'll just keep to less doubtful deletion nominations for now.
