White flag

A white flag is a symbol understood by humans and Transformers alike to mean either a request for a temporary ceasefire to negotiate or a declaration of surrender.

In the battle at Jan-Ja, Mattock tried to convince Optimus Prime that they didn't stand a chance and that they'd best surrender so that the Decepticons might decide to spare their lives. Optimus ordered him to bring out the white flag, but rather than wave it, Optimus Prime had Mattock bind the wound on his left arm with it. At that, Optimus leapt out of the trenches, and shouted "Never Surrender!". Surrender!

When it is was just them against nine Maximals, Starscream and BB chose to resort to Formation Scream. It didn't work because the Maximals found cover in time, but the attack left the Combatrons drained all the same. Now unarmed, Starscream told BB that they'd unleash their true last resort. After several encounters with robots in disguise, a thief tried to steal a normal compact car, but once he got in it got eaten by Underbite. The thief fell out before he got eaten too but was left in pain. Done with his bad luck, he brought out the symbolic white flag of defeat and waved it. Carjacked!
