The Quintessons release their greatest creation...Unicron!

Synopsis

[edit]

On a distant barren planet, a group of angry voices rants to themselves. They grumble about how others dared to judge them and exiled them to deep space, leaving them defenseless. But as their planet cracks apart, the voices comment that their oppressors forgot the truth: that they, the Quintessons, created the Transformers long ago, and have now created the strongest Transformer of all...the planet itself, which shatters to reveal the metallic form of the mighty Unicron! The Judge bids him to awaken and he transforms to his enormous robot mode. When he asks who the voices are, they reply they are his creators, and that he will serve them. But Unicron refuses to serve anyone and spits them out, sending them flying off into space. Declaring he hungers, Unicron sets off to find a planet to devour.

Notes

[edit]
  • While this short was made to be part of the celebration for 35th anniversary of The Transformers: The Movie, it was not ran theatrically. It premiered as part of the Hasbro Pulse 1027 on October 27 2021. It was later added to the Hasbro Pulse YouTube channel on December 2 of the same year.
  • Rather than use their 2020 Earthrise toy, the Quintesson Judge are depicted using repurposed 2D animation from the film itself.
  • The short features original music composed by Vince DiCola, the composer of The Transformers: The Movie.

Transformers references

[edit]
  • Unicron being constructed by the Quintessons originates from "The Secret of Cybertron", an earlier version of the movie written by Flint Dille.
  • Unicron states "I serve nobody", paraphrasing a line Megatron says to him in the movie.
