Wilder is a human and a Decepticon Headmaster Junior from the Super-God Masterforce portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Once, Wilder (ワイルダー Wairudā) was just a typical juvenile delinquent pretty-boy who expressed his discontent with the world by founding a motorcycle gang with some of his friends. Then one day, while they were having the sort of anti-authority fun The Man didn't like them having, they got beaten up by a rival gang. Having had the one thing he even halfway cared about taken away, Wilder decided that the best thing to do would be to take his frustration out on society by joining up with the Decepticons. And to his "credit", Wilder didn't do it by half—he has flung himself so deeply into the evil world of the Decepticons and embraced it so eagerly, that there may be no coming back.

As a Headmaster Junior warrior, Wilder is bonded to a Transtector from the planet Master which takes the form of a winged, bipedal wolf-monster. In becoming a Decepticon, Wilder believes he has sold his soul, but based on the disinterested ease with which he is able to admit to this, he seems to consider it small change. And to hell with other people—Wilder is only out for Wilder, and the rest of the world can burn as long as he can claim to be powerful. As a Headmaster Junior, he is above humans, and he won't hesitate to beat his once-best friend half to death or kill a dog to prove it. Perhaps as a result of this intensity and his explosive personality, Wilder exercises quite a bit of control over the other Decepticon Headmaster Juniors, serving as their de facto leader.

Wilder founded the Jack Boys motorcycle gang with his friend Chris, but their days of youthful deviancy were put to an end when the rival gang known as the Cool Guys intruded on their turf. The Jack Boys broke up in the face of the Cool Guys' threat, and the disenchanted Wilder later joined up with the Decepticons under Devil Z in search of revenge against the world in general. Rage!! Transformed into a Headmaster Junior warrior alongside Mexican street thug Bullhorn and Chinese orphan martial artist Cancer, Wilder and his fellow ne'er-do-wells were sequestered in the undersea Decepticon headquarters until Blood finally announced it was time for them to reveal themselves to the world. Alongside some Lobclaw Seacons, Wilder and the Juniors began causing chaos in a city, soon drawing the attention of the Autobots, including their own three recently created Headmaster Juniors. The Autobot Juniors were under orders to stay out of the fight and focus on rescue operations, but Wilder and his compatriots made it tough to follow the order as they pushed and shoved Shūta Gō around while he tried to rescue a baby from a burning building. Thankfully, Metalhawk arrived to see them off, and the day was saved. Birth! Headmaster Jrs

His powers having been tested in battle, Wilder decided it was time to get his revenge on the Cool Guys. With Bullhorn and Cancer in tow, Wilder attacked and subjugated the Cool Guys, turning them into the Decepticons' lackeys, and then proceeded to run wild in a nearby city. During the battle which resulted with the Autobot Headmaster Juniors, a dog began barking at Wilder, and he kicked the poor animal, killing it outright. This cruel act proved his undoing, as it galvanized the timid Autobot Minerva into action. She incapacitated Bullhorn and Cancer, leaving Wilder without backup and forcing him to flee. Rage!! While in the process of rebuilding the Jack Boys, Wilder later attempted to recruit his old friend Chris back into the group, although he had to kidnap Chris to get him even to listen to his plea. Although Wilder at first displayed a genuine friendship with Chris and a real desire that he join him once more, when Chris refused and called Wilder a changed man, Wilder responded by slamming his "friend" into a rock wall and punching and kicking him until he bled. At that point, the Autobot Juniors arrived to intervene, having been led to the gang's hideout by Chris's sister Mary, and Wilder again engaged Shūta in battle while Minerva and Cab handled the other Decepticon Juniors and helped Chris get free. Paralyzed by a shot from Minerva's Shock Gun, Wilder was unable to stop the Autobots from escaping. Go, Goshooter - Showdown in the Wasteland

Wilder and the Juniors took something of a back seat following the arrival of the powerful Godmasters Giga, Mega, Hydra and Buster, Super Warriors - The Godmaster Brothers but when the hunt for the next Godmaster began, the three boys put their ears to the ground to search for clues. They wound up unearthing a series of rumors that led to the next Godmaster, named Ginrai, but he sided with the Autobots. A Hero Is Chosen - His Name Is Ginrai When Ginrai travelled to Japan to visit the other Autobots, Wilder, Bullhorn and Cancer ambushed him en route to the Autobot base, but Ginrai thrashed all three of them soundly. A Strange Friendship: Cancer and Minerva Itching for a rematch, the trio combed Japan for Ginrai, eventually spotting him in the background of a news report from Nagano, but inevitably losing the resultant battle. Friend or Foe!? The True Form of the Monster!! Drowning their sorrows at a bar, they once again spotted Ginrai on a TV show, but decided to leave the matter up to Buster and Hydra. Later, on an island off the coast of America, Wilder and the Juniors showed off their surfing skills to a group of young boys, and then offered to show them something "even cooler"—their Masterforce powers! They proceeded to kidnap the children as part of a plan by the Pretenders to draw out Ginrai, and when Wilder and Bullhorn were stuck with guard duty, they busied themselves playing cards. When the Autobots attacked, Wilder was left to guard the cave alone and was easily taken down by Ginrai. Heroism!! The Birth of Super Ginrai

During the search for the remaining Godmasters, Wilder joined the Decepticons on a mission into the Rocky Mountains, where his attempt to steal the Transtector of the next Godmaster, Ranger, led him into another battle with Ginrai. The struggling combatants tumbled into a river, at which point Buster and Hydra arrived and dropped depth-charges into the water to force Ginrai out. Wilder, however, was so incensed that they had indiscriminately dropped the charges on him as well that he instructed Bullhorn and Cancer to retreat, leaving the Godmasters to fight alone. An Enemy? Wilder's audition for "Thriller" went surprisingly well.

The search for the Godmasters next led the Juniors to France when Wilder read a magazine article about a retired race car driver whose vehicle miraculously survived every crash it was in. The trio headed for the small village of Dagneux, where Wilder confronted the racer, Germain, only to be strong-armed out of his restaurant. Infuriated, Wilder had the Juniors attack the village in their Transtectors, which drew the attention of the nearby Autobots. Wilder's suspicion had been correct: Germain's car had been a Transtector, but he had passed it on to his protégé, Road King, who became the next Autobot Godmaster and aided his new teammates in seeing the Decepticon Juniors off. When Wilder and Bullhorn's teasing of Cancer over his infatuation with Minerva grew too great for the young boy to bear, he attempted to prove that she meant nothing to him by arranging an attack to draw her out. Unfortunately for the Juniors, their attack was met by the violent Sixknight, who nearly killed them all until Minerva and Cancer's little buddy Browning saved them. The Autobot Warrior, Sixknight?! Despite seeing where it had got them once already, Wilder and Bullhorn kept up the ribbing when the Juniors were tasked with burning food storehouses in the heartland of America, mocking Cancer for thinking that they were destroying all the food in the country. Destroy Godbomber!!

Wilder, Bullhorn and Cancer were not particularly enthusiastic about renewing the search for the final Godmaster, but the quest came to a sudden end when the Godmaster in question, Clouder, actually sought out the Decepticons. Appearance!! The Final Godmaster Using his power to transform into two robot modes, Clouder infiltrated the Autobot base as a spy and acquired classified information, which he handed off to Wilder and the Juniors to give to Mega and Giga. Secret Orders! Destroy the Autobot Base!! Wilder and the Juniors participated in the ensuing Decepticon attack on the Autobot base, which concluded with its destruction. Disaster! The Autobot Base Explodes

Wilder went into space along with the other Decepticons when BlackZarak was poised to unleash the evil Death Para-Machine on Earth, but was unable to participate in the battle with the Autobots that resulted, as he didn't have a booster to help him fly in space (although he nearly drifted off when he forgot that fact). Crisis! The Day of Human Extinction Although the Decepticons' plan was foiled by the Autobots, Bullhorn grew concerned with Devil Z's plan to wipe out humanity, only for Wilder to dismiss it with the remark that he had little concern for the lives of others since becoming a Headmaster Junior. God Ginrai - Save Cancer!?

When Clouder resurfaced on the side of the Autobots after he was abandoned by Turtler in the conflagration of the destroyed Autobot base, Wilder dismissed his claims of betrayal as lies. God Ginrai: Showdown at the Decepticon Base Alas, he would soon discover that the Decepticon loyalty he believed in was truly the lie. During an all-out Autobot attack on the Decepticon headquarters, Devil Z and BlackZarak fused together and collapsed the base, sending the Autobots, along with the Decepticon Juniors, tumbling into an undersea chasm. Refusing to believe that he had been abandoned by the other Decepticons, Wilder opened fire on the Autobots as they attempted to convince him of the truth. Eventually, Ginrai was forced to jump him and knock him out in order to carry him to safety. The Ultimate Combination!! BlackZarak, the New Lifeform Despite being faced with the truth of Devil Z's betrayal, Wilder and Bullhorn did not share Cancer's interest in becoming an Autobot fighting "for good", and promptly left the group. During a later battle, however, when things were looking bad for Cancer and the Autobot Juniors, Wilder and Bullhorn unexpectedly returned to help the one person that they still considered their friend win the day. Although Wilder still refused to consider himself an Autobot, he and his three fellow turncoats, Bullhorn, Cancer and Clouder, accompanied the Autobots to the Grand Canyon on a mission to stop the composite Devil Z/BlackZarak entity. During the battle, however, all four of them were struck with a blast of the villain's Devil Power and were shocked to find their Master-Braces had disappeared from their wrists. Devil Z had, in fact, separated them from their Transtectors and brought the robot bodies to life as true super-robot lifeforms, all four of whom rejoined the Decepticon side. Autobots! Desperate Attack!!

Unable to join in the final battle with the Decepticons on the Matterhorn directly, Wilder and the other three boys helped to rescue civilians when Devil Z unleashed his destructive Devil Thunder across Europe. After narrowly avoiding being crushed by falling masonry, Wilder's cold facade finally broke as he and the others huddled in an underground shelter, and he punched the ground over and over again, screaming to the heavens. Malevolent and Inhuman! The True Form of Devil Z When the Devil Thunder bombardment was halted (thanks to Ginrai engaging BlackZarak in battle), Clouder supplied the group with an armored buggy that would allow them to join in the fight. As they headed for the Alps, Wilder chose to remind everyone that he was categorically still not an Autobot, but the protest had grown so stale that Cancer laughed it off, much to Wilder's annoyance. The boys arrived too late to do anything, cresting the mountain just after God Ginrai destroyed Devil Z, at which point all the other Godmasters and Headmaster Juniors were also separated from their Transtectors. Wilder's living Transtector departed Earth with all the other Decepticon Transtectors and was pursued by the Autobots' Transtectors to carry on the Transformers' war in space. With Minerva and Cancer, the human Wilder surfed near by a group of Autobots led by Optimus Prime who were doing "special surfing training". Crossing the Pacific Ocean!?

Following the departure of their transtectors, Wilder and the other former Decepticon Headmaster Juniors wanted new ones. They stowed aboard a ship to the Autobot transtector factory at G Nebula 89, but since the factory was under constant Decepticon threat, Grand couldn't fulfill their request and instead sent them to the safety of the Legends World (but did provide them with new Master-Braces). On arrival in the alternate universe, Wilder and the rest were reunited with the Autobot Headmaster Juniors and gave them some Braces too. LG24 Shockwave & Cancer Prologue They were placed under the protection of Fortress, but when he wouldn't give them transtectors either, they struck out and stole three bodies from the Decepticons instead. When Ai and Ravage tracked them down, Wilder combined with the Weirdwolf transtector and tried to flee with Cancer, but Ravage knocked all their heads off before they got anywhere. Being minors, the three got away with a stern talking to, but that didn't stop them from trying to peek on Ai in the bath later. LG37 Ravage

Wilder later got a job as a professional model, LG40 Astrotrain and was among the victims swallowed up by Trypticon during his attack on the city. LG43 Trypticon When Giga and Mega were resurrected in the Legends World, Wilder and the other Juniors were happy to meet them again. Wilder was present when Jin and Mirai were to be inducted into the Decepticons. Headmasters VS Masterforce

Wilder and the Decepticon Headmaster Juniors made their debut when Blood lured the Autobot Juniors into a trap to test the power of their Jinchokon. Bursting up from beneath the ground, the evil trio quickly overpowered their Autobot counterparts, but when Cancer was distracted by some endangered civilians, the heroes were able to exploit the distraction to defeat their foes. The Battle of Destiny - Children of Good and Evil

Wilder and his partners did not take an active hand in any of the Decepticon plans which immediately followed, but eventually took to the front lines again when their leaders, Giga and Mega, unveiled their Transtectors for an attack on Tokyo. God Ginrai's Amazing Divine Combination! The trio were quite happy to watch when the Decepticons captured Shūta and Cab and Blood tortured them in an attempt to force them to join the Decepticons, although Wilder did not believe that the two boys should ever be allowed to join. The Good and Evil Families of Earth Wilder and the Juniors later joined Overlord in attacking various spots on Earth from the top of Chomolungma with the A.O. Laser The Decepticons' Great Counterattack! and later still, accompanied him and BlackZarak in attacking another Earth city, only to be stopped by the Autobot super-weapon, the VX Bomb. Life or Death? The Desperate Divine Combination!

In the final battle, Devil Z turned against his Decepticon minions, and they united with the Autobots against him. Wilder joined with all the other Transformers in combining his energy into the "Perfect Transform Attack," destroying Devil Z once and for all. With Devil Z's death, the bonds forged between the humans and their Transtectors were severed, separating the humans and bringing their Transtectors to life. Released in the fourth year of Takara's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers line under the Super-God Masterforce banner, Wilder is identical to the Hasbro-release Brisko; a small armored humanoid that transforms into a robot head compatible with any Headmaster body.
He comes with his Headmaster Transtector, which is identical to the Hasbro-release Fangry, transforming into a monstrous bipedal bat-winged wolf monster with organic fur. The Wilder Headmaster figure fits in a cockpit in the Transtector's stomach in its beast mode. The creature's wings disconnect to form a shield; while the gun technically doesn't have a place in the beast mode, it can be used to extend its tail, as it is made up of the robot-mode arms.
Like all Headmaster toys, Wilder's robot mode features a spring-loaded mini-Tech-Spec-meter in its chest, which gives readings for Speed, Strength and Intelligence (although he and the other Decepticon Junior molds are unique in that their meters are not covered by flip-down panels). The tumblers are activated when Wilder (or any other Headmaster unit) is plugged into the neck socket. Wilder has his robot mode face plainly visible on his back because, as a smaller Headmaster toy, he lacks the flip-down panel that covers the face featured on larger Headmasters.

Part of the third wave of individually-packed Generations Titans Return Titan Masters, Fangry transforms from robot based on Brisko to a head based on that of the original Generation 1 Fangry toy. In this mode, Fangry can serve as the head of any Titans Return Deluxe, Voyager, or Leader Class figure. He also features ports in his feet that allow him to peg onto a wide variety of Titans Return figures.
He is packaged with a dragon-ish thing he can ride on, which he can combine with in his folded-up state to form his classic winged wolf-monster mode, or a 5 mm triple-barreled blaster accessory for a larger figure.
As with all Titan Master vehicle accessories, care must be taken with the gun mode's handle: the handle fits tightly in many 5 mm-compatible closed hands, and combined with the handle's lack of a metal pin running through the joint, removing it by force causes the handle to pop out of the joint.
Like his wavemates, Fangry never saw wide release in Malaysia, due to shelfwarming in the first and second waves.
Fangry's head component was retooled into Thunderwing, Ultra Magnus, and Scorponok and also served as the model for the non-toy Shattered Glass incarnation of Donnie Finkleberg. The beast accessory was redecoed into Legends Noble and served as the model for the Shattered Glass incarnation of Fangry.

  • According to his supplementary bio card, Wilder is 16 years old, which possibly puts his birth date in 2004.<ref>Contemporary Masterforce media never gave a date. Decades after the fact, a Generations Selects Special Comic story by Hayato Sakamoto laid down that the Masterforce anime transpired in 2020.</ref>
  • Wilder's armored form in the Legends manga is initially depicted as a virtual redeco of Titans Return Fangry in colors accurate to his anime appearance, beginning with "LG37 Ravage". This design persists until "LG-EX Grand Maximus" two years later, at which point the accompanying toyline was reaching a conclusion, and he instead becomes a straight repurpose of Titans Return Fangry.
