Hey, quit changin' my faction emblems up there!

Windrazor is one of the five Air Team robots who make up the legendary super robot Superion Maximus. A warrior who remembered the first age of Cybertron, and a member in two senses of the Autobot Air Team, he must have seen a lot. What stories he could have told, given the chance, but he wasn't. He just blowed up real good.

Energon cartoon

All action lines, no talk.

When the current Decepticon leader Megatron discovered a hidden chamber and four ancient, towering guardians, he destroyed one of the Autobot guardians, reactivating the ones that remained and revealing the Super Energon pool they had been guarding for countless years. Ambition Superion Maximus awoke to find his brother dead, with the Decepticon leader claiming the Super Energon for himself, absorbing its power to become Galvatron. Superion tried to stop him to no avail, so he split up into the Air Team and escaped, with Bruticus Maximus and Constructicon Maximus in hot pursuit. Wishes

During a virtual training match between the Autobots and Decepticons, Windrazor was part of Storm Jet's Air Team, fighting the Destruction Team and the Construction Team. They combined into Superion Maximus to take on both Bruticus Maximus and Constructicon Maximus, but were eventually defeated. Distribution

Superion Maximus flew in his component vehicle modes as the Autobots made their way through the maze-like routes beneath Cybertron's surface. The Omega Train

Windrazor and the Air Team had their revenge against the Destruction and Construction teams during a final show down with the treacherous Decepticon combiners. Bruticus Maximus and Constructicon Maximus double teamed Superion Maximus, who held his own, managing to briefly fend off Bruticus before crushing Constructicon's spark. However, Bruticus Maximus recovered and destroyed Windrazor and the other three Superion limbs, leaving Storm Jet alone. Spark

Windrazor was never referred to by name, nor was he ever presented as a sentient, individual being. Most of his appearances were as the left leg of Superion Maximus.

Toys

Energon

[edit]
  • Superion (Multi-pack, 2004)
Takara's Super Link Firebolt shares a mold with his teammate Air Rider, transforming into a red and gray fighter jet similar to the F-22 Raptor. His weird baton-like dual blasters attach to the underside of his wings, with the connector piece just kind of hanging off one of them. His included energon star can be placed onto the spark crystal on his buttflap/between the jet tailfins or given to other figures.
He can also form a leg or arm to any Energon-style "Powerlinx Combiner" super robot, though his nominal placement is as the left leg of Superion. In this form, his energon blasters and the connector combine into a four-"clawed" hand or foot.
All five members of Superion were only available in the Takara Super Link line as part of a complete super-robot multi-pack, released in the sixteenth wave of toys.
This mold was later used to make Classics Breakaway, the 2008 Universe toyline's Superion components Airazor and Air Raid, as well as the identical Target-exclusive Revenge of the Fallen Superion components Airazor and Air Raid.

He'd rather be red than dead, but now he's that too.
  • Windrazor (Energon Class, 2004)
The Hasbro release of Windrazor was sold on an individual card, in the seventh wave of Energon "Energon Class" (aka "Basic") toys.
Windrazor is largely identical to the Takara release; the only "big" differences are his clear-blue plastic is a lighter shade, plus he has the gear-shaped "Powerlinx" symbol on the right side of his chest, which Firebolt lacks.

Universe (2003)

[edit]
  • Windrazor (Basic Class, 2005)
  • Accessories: 2 energon dual blasters, connector piece, Autobot energon chip
Windrazor was repackaged on a Universe-themed card and sold through discount chains in the U.S. like Dollar General or Family Dollar.
No mention of his combining ability is made on the cardback, likely due to only four of the five Air Team members being released this way.
