Beast Wars: Uprising

[edit]

During the Great War, Surge was the Targetmaster partner to Triple-Threat Prime. Surviving his partner's death, Surge kept in contact with what little remained of the Autobot leadership by that point, which included Hyperfire, who warned Surge of what was coming. Both sides had learned that Targetmasters could be used to drain the life from Cybertronians en masse, and when the Pax Cybertronia was enforced, the order was sent out that the Targetmasters had to die. Thus began the Targetmaster Extirpation.

Afterward, Surge went into hiding on a Cybertron now utterly hostile to Targetmasters, renaming himself Overrun and adding new kibble to his frame to make himself look like a jet. Winding up in Iacon, he set up the store Spark of Genius. He still kept in contact with what few of his former kin remained, such as Twirl, sharing details on how to remain in hiding. Somehow acquiring the dreaded Robo-Smasher, Overrun used it to turn Lidar into his inside mech on the Maximal Command Security Force, erasing him from their records.

During the Grand Uprising, Overrun was introduced by Twirl to a mechanoid calling herself "Elita", who paid serious cash for some body upgrades, and a specially tailored virus designed to hit MCSF officers hard. Eager for the money, Overrun took the job. However, he also realized Twirl was starting to draw attention to herself, from parties very interested in studying a living Targetmaster's physiology, such as "Elita", actually Resistance member Blackarachnia. Panicking, Overrun murdered his friend. When the MCSF investigated, he had Lidar bomb their morgue to destroy Twirl's remains. However, a cop named Wolfang investigated anyway, and was eventually able to deduce Overrun's identity. With the Predacon Secret Police now aware of his nature, Overrun panicked and fled toward Vos, but was unable to get far. Blackarachnia was able to fake a Resistance blunder, calling in a Builder airstrike to ward off the pursuing PSP, but Overrun was tired of running, and of what his life in general had become, and aware there would be nowhere to hide. So he let himself get hit by the barrage, which destroyed him utterly. Trigger Warnings

  • Optimus Prime with Mini-Con Over-Run (Super-Con, 2003)
    • Japanese ID number: MC-06
Armada Over-Run transforms into a Cybertronic starship. He also has a third "rifle" mode that can be held by most toys that use 5mm-wide accessory pegs. He was only available with the Deluxe-scaled version of Optimus Prime.
This toy doubles as the Armada character Over-Run, and this mold was also used to make Run-Over.

Notes

[edit]
  • Despite Wolfang's observation, "[[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Buffer overflow|{{#if:overrun|overrun|Buffer overflow}}]]" is indeed a name relevant to programming. Maybe Wolfang just wasn't tech-savvy enough to realise it?
