They chose the most-often-toy-released in Speed-Bot.

Speed-Bot was chosen by the High Council as "the fastest" of the available Go-Bots to join the Earth's Go-Bot Team on their mission to help Earth. After Silver-Bot came to Earth as well and began causing chaos near a tropical island, Aero-Bot selected Speed-Bot and Strong-Bot to help rein in the newbie. Speed-Bot busied himself towing no less than five buses full of people from a stricken cruise ship along the sea-side. He was brought to a halt by trees inadvertently by Silver-Bot, and came under further threat when the trees caught alight. Aero-Bot rescued Speed-Bot by putting out the fire and clearing the obstruction. Speed-Bot successfully reached a cave Strong-Bot had made, and dropped off the humans before helping Aero-Bot stall a tornado and bring Silver-Bot under control. Typhoon Twister

[edit]
  • Speedbot (Basic Go-Bot, 2002)
Part of the first (and only) "Basic" assortment of Playskool Big Adventures, "Speedbot" transforms into a cutesy red sportscar with a very simplistic transformation. Rotating the waist causes the door-arms to pop out and the hood to flip down, revealing the robot head.
This mold was redecoed to make Aero-Bot II, Toys"R"Us exclusive Aero-Bot, and Mototron. It was retooled to make Cop-Bot, Fire-Bot, Invisibility Force Fire-Bot, Prowl-Bot, and Taxi-Bot. Whew!
This toy was released in Japan with only a few minor deco changes as Ted.

Transformers: Go-Bots (2003)

[edit]
If they'd kept on numbering them, kids sure woulda learned the hell out of their Roman numerals.
  • Speed-Bot II (Deluxe Go-Bot, 2003)
  • Accessories: "Kid-Bot" and "Gas-Bot" figurines
  • Known designers: Yuichiro Hira (TakaraTomy){{#if: |, {{{2}}}}}

He came with Kid-Bot and Gas-Bot figures.
This toy was released without changes in Japan as Paul Jr. This mold was also used to make Aero-Bot Racer and Fast-Bot.

Go-Bots

[edit]

  • Speed-Bot (Ultra Go-Bot, 2003)
This rather large Racer-Bot toy transforms into a stunt-show drag dragster. His back end has a spring-loaded cloth drag chute.

  • Speed-Bot (Basic Go-Bot, 2003)
This slight redeco of the original Speedbot toy, now with a Go-Shield, came with a video cassette of the first two episodes of the Go-Bots cartoon.

  • Speed-Bot Racer (Racer, 2003)
  • Accessories: "Kid-Bot" and "Gas-Bot" figurines
The second new Speed-Bot mold, this is also of the most poseable of the Go-Bots toys, with a few more points of articulation not attached to transformation.
He also came with redecos of the Kid-Bot and Gas-Bot figurines.
This mold was also used to make Mototron Racer.

Transformers: Go-Bots (2004)

[edit]

  • Speed-Bot Race-Car (Secret Shield, 2004)
The first new Basic mold for Speed-Bot, released with the "Secret Shield" assortment. It has mostly the same transformation as the original, but the torso is different and considerably skinnier.

  • Speed-Bot (Deluxe, 2004)
This chrome-red "Go-Brillium finish" Speed-Bot toy was a Toys"R"Us exclusive. This was actually recolored from the modified "Invisibility Force" mold that didn't see release until the next year (see below).
It was released alongside a similarly-chromed Aero-Bot.
This was intended to be the second release of this toy, but it ended up being the only release.

  • Special Bonus Pack (Multi-pack, 2003-2004?)
This figure was the planned first release of the Toys"R"Us exclusive "Go-Brillium" redeco, dubbed a "Collector's Edition" version of the toy on the packaging. But the set was ultimately unreleased (and unnannounced!) for unknown reasons.
The set also included Strong-Bot, and Gorilla-Bot; while Gorilla-Bot got an unchanged individual release, that version of Strong-Bot (now a steamroller) would ultimately never see release.

  • Speed-Bot (Basic Go-Bot, 2005)
This red "muscle car" was recolored from the at-the-time-unreleased Racer-Bot ALPHA toy, transforming into a car similar to a Ford Mustang muscle car, with an exposed blower coming out of the hood and side-pipes. Stylin'!

  • Speed-Bot (Invisibility Force, 2005)
Made with clear red plastic, this is one of the "Invisibility Force" toys that was intended for release in 2004, but was held back until after the line was cancelled in 2005. This toy was actually slightly retooled from the original Speedbot toy, with different spoiler/feet pieces.

  • Speed-Bot Racer (Racer, 2005)
  • Accessories: "Kid-Bot" and "Gas-Bot" figurines
Another new Deluxe mold, this was also slated for a 2004 release, but ended up never being released in the US. It did, however, make it out in the UK in 2005. His chest is spring-loaded so it snaps down into place; doing so also causes the arms to fold out. Pressing a button either on his chest or in front of his windshield activates some electronic sound effects.
He came with a new-mold Kid-Bot figurine, and a redeco of the usual Gas-Bot figurine.
