| The name or term "Hyperdrive" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Hyperdrive (disambiguation). |
- Hyperdrive is a Decepticon Micromaster from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Hyperdrive is violent, destructive, and likes nothing better than "putting one in the CPU" of wounded Autobots. Even his teammates in the Sports Car Patrol are put off by his ignoble nature.[1] On the plus side... no wait, he's just a jerk. No depth here.

[edit]

- Sports Car Patrol (Micromaster Patrol, 1989)
- Released in the sixth year of the The Transformers toyline (fifth year in the European line), Hyperdrive transforms into a cyan Mitsubishi X2S concept car.
- He was only available in the Sports Car Patrol four-pack, released in the second wave of Micromaster Patrols, with his teammates Blackjack, Detour and Road Hugger. Hyperdrive is gang-molded with Detour, so they share plastic colors.
- This mold was also used for Zone Gingham, and was apparently the basis for the non-toy character Clipper.
War for Cybertron: Siege
[edit]

- Decepticon Blackjack & Hyperdrive (Micromaster Class, June, 2019)
- Hasbro ID number: WFC-S32
- TakaraTomy ID number: SG-30
- TakaraTomy release date: September 30, 2019
- Part of the third wave of Siege Micromaster two-packs, Hyperdrive is a retool of Roadhandler with a new chest and head, and transforms into a blue vaguely-Cybertronian sports car. He can also combine with his pack-in teammate Blackjack to form a cannon. As a part of the C.O.M.B.A.T. System, their weapon mode can be attached to any toy with a 5 mm post-hole. "Fire Blasts" can also be attached to their barrels. Alternatively he can be turned into a single blaster without the need of his teammate as a fan mode.

[edit]Transformers Trading Card Game
[edit]
- Raider Hyperdrive, Sports Car Patrol-Demolitions (2019)
- Wave 4: War for Cybertron: Siege II
- Rarity: CT
- Card Number: T32/T52
- Stars: 4
- Raider Hyperdrive, Sports Car Patrol-Demolitions is one of forty-eight double-sided character cards available in Wave 3 of the Transformers Trading Card Game, War for Cybertron: Siege I. In order to represent Hyperdrive's size as a Micromaster, Raider Hyperdrive, Sports Car Patrol-Demolitions is the size of a battle card, about half the size of a normal character card.
- The card's artwork is based on the Siege Hyperdrive toy, with the Alt Mode artwork being reused from the toy's packaging art, and original Bot Mode artwork with lines by Dan Khanna and colors by Volta.
Notes
[edit]
- Most—if not all—of the toys pictured in the 1990 Hasbro Transformers catalogue are unfinished prototypes or mock-ups, and a variety of differences from the final products pop up. In Hyperdrive's case, the face and crotch are coloured red, whereas the final toy has them in dark blue. While this was probably just an aesthetic preference on part of the designers for a more cohesive paintjob, the original prototype color scheme ended up being the one used for the in-comic Marvel characters, making its change somewhat awkward as far as accuracy goes.
