Būpink is a Beastformer from the Generation 1 continuity family.

The most famous chef on planet Beast, Būpink (ブーピンク Būpinku) takes life at his own pace. A calm, generous, and often goofy fellow, he's always full of good cheer and helps to spread that with culinary delights. His ability to sniff out edible ingredients from hundreds of kilometers away earned him the role of "food scout" in White Leo's army during the war against Alligatron's rebels, ensuring they never went hungry, and his cooking skills ensured that they loved what they ate.

As King of the warm tropical island of Hilles, lack of food is not a problem, especially with his MVP Weapon, the "Gourmetnier" (グルメニア Gurumenia). With this, he need only think about a foodstuff, and the spear can synthesize it out of ambient molecules. With a seemingly unlimited supply of food, he has learned to cook dishes from all over the planet, to the delight of diners everywhere.

In 2038, the then-peaceful Beast was invaded by Galvatron II's Decepticons. Būpink was part of the joint Beastformer-Laser Beast alliance that fought against the invaders. At one point, he attended to Queen Lune. The Road to Legends' Revival Chapter 3

Part of the third series of Takara's Beastformers toys, Būpink is a small soft-plastic figure of an anthropomorphic pig in red robotic armor. The Battle Emblem on his chest reveals one of three symbols when warmed up; Fire, Water or Wood.

During this line, Būpink was only available in the Burstsun Special Set (バーストサンスペシャルセット Bāsutosan Supesharu Setto) multipack. This blindpacked set contains 10 figures out of a potential 14. Thankfully, these were not randomly-packed, and came in two distinct lineups.

The first version has White Leo with an exclusive "Burstsun" Battle Emblem, Black Jaguar, Būpink, Dog Hunter, Dream Eater, Muskhorn, Pangol, Slo, White Cow, and Udan.

The second version has Ghost Alligatron, Black Jaguar, Būpink, Crowmax, Earthhog, Mingo Kid, Pangol, Slo, White Cow, and Udan.

Re-released in the Transformers-less Beastformers sequel series, Būpink was given a straight re-release with new packaging and a new, more filled-out bio card with corrected coloring. This new card also gave his weapon, now branded an "MVP Weapon", the name "Gourmetnier". He was sold in the second assortment of single figures, in an individual box with a name sticker on the front.

Late in the run, the "mood ring" styled rubsigns were replaced with new rubsigns that revealed full-color Fire/Wood/Water images on black backdrops. (These rubsign variants also happened at the same time in the Hasbro Battle Beast version of the line.)

Notes

Anyone got a Silver Arrow?

• Bū is the Japanese onomatopoeia for a pig's grunting noise. Effectively, "Oinkpink".
• His 1987 character art (which is the same art as on the Hasbro Battle Beasts cast poster) incorrectly gives him a gold spear. His later 1988 bio card corrects this mistake.
• His 1988 bio card gives him the nickname Bū (ブー).
