James Tiberius Kirk was born on Earth in the 23rd century in the town of Riverside, Iowa before he went on to attend Starfleet Academy. When he ascended to the rank of captain, Kirk was given the USS Enterprise and took it upon himself to memorize his ship's blueprints. Prime's Directive, Part Three

On stardate 5892.7, the Enterprise was called to Cygnus Seven, a dilithium mining colony near the Klingon border, only to find that communications were jammed, forcing a landing party to beam down. Placing Arex in charge in his absence, Kirk took Spock, Hikaru Sulu, and M'Ress down with him where they found the mining facility under attack by unmanned 20th century vehicles. Unable to reach the Enterprise, Kirk ordered the team to protect the miners, only to be saved from gunfire himself by the sudden arrival of a large truck. Believing it to be a weapon remote-controlled by the Klingons, Kirk blasted the truck with his phaser, causing it to scream in pain as it transformed into a towering humanoid. The other archaic vehicles then approached to reveal themselves as Decepticons with Megatron ordering Soundwave to slay the organics. Though the audio disruptor waves caused debilitating pain, they had disrupted the communications interference allowing Kirk to call in a photon torpedo, scaring off the Decepticons. Believing the robots had exhibited actual consciousness, Kirk summoned Scotty and Doctor McCoy to repair the truck so they could learn more, despite McCoy's skepticism. When told by Spock of similar signals to the red robot's coming from a nearby mine shaft, Kirk led Sulu and M'Ress inside to investigate. The three eventually reached a large metal wall, which burst open as the Autobots emerged and Jazz demanded to know what has happened to Optimus Prime. Prime's Directive, Part One

Despite the away team's more nimble bodies, the Autobots proved better fighters, quickly capturing them all, forcing Kirk to attempt diplomacy. After Kirk realized that "Optimus Prime" was the robot he'd fired on, the captain assured Jazz that his leader was being tended to before asking who the Autobots were. At Jazz's order Bumblebee recounted the events that led to the Cybertronians finding themselves on Cygnus Seven before the Decepticons attacked the surface once again, sealing them all underground. Seeing only one way out, Ratchet decided Fortress Maximus would need to be brought back online. Prime's Directive, Part Two

The Titan's damaged state necessitated binary bonding, and Kirk volunteered to have his brain scanned, his memories combined and uploaded into the Titan's to jump-start the mighty Autobot; in doing so, Maximus ultimately plucked the schematics of the Enterprise from Kirk's mind and used them to reconfigure his alternate mode into a Cybertronian-scaled copy of the vessel. In control of the Titan, Kirk guided him out of the moon and opened fire on the nearby warbird which revealed itself to be Trypticon. In response, Kirk had Maximus transform to robot mode, their shared mind now calling itself "Fortress Tiberius", to fight his opposite. Prime's Directive, Part Three

As the two Titans brawled, Kirk struggled to keep Maximus's desire for vengeance in check weighed against the temptation of the Autobot's awesome power. Though Maximus's anger nearly allowed Trypticon the edge in their duel, Kirk found the willpower to tame his comrade and downed Trypticon with a mighty left hook. As the Decepticons retreated, Kirk informed Optimus that Starscream was heading for the Klingon Empire, no doubt to conquer it. Before pursuing the Decepticon, Kirk piloted Tiberius back to the original Enterprise, disabled after a run-in with Trypticon, and beamed over the Autobots to speed along repairs. Even so, Kirk was unsure if they would have to ultimately invade the Klingon Empire, risking total war with their neighbors, in order to save it. Prime's Directive, Part Four

Though ideas were debated, the Autobots and Starfleet ultimately violated the borders of the Empire in pursuit of the hostiles. In a discussion with Optimus, Kirk was inspired to use the replicators to create "Crewbots" so the rest of the bridge crew could fight the Decepticons. Upon arrival at Kronos however, even with their might boosted by the released Kuri and his soldiers, the power of the Decepticons proved too much ultimately culminating in Soundwave again unleashing audio disruptor waves, bringing the Autobots and Starfleet to their knees. The Klingons however were unaffected by the frequency Soundwave used allowing them to summon a fleet of cloaked warbirds that defeated the Decepticons.

"Never give up, never surrender!"

In the aftermath, Kirk negotiated a tentative peace with the Klingon High Council, one that, to his dismay, meant leaving the Decepticons as Klingon prisoners, before he disconnected from Maximus. Though Kirk offered the Autobots safe refuge on Earth, Prime declined, confident that his people's destiny lay elsewhere, but swore to help his new friends should they ever need assistance before the two ships parted ways. Prime's Directive, Part Five
