Transformers references

[edit]
  • Presumably, Waspinator's insistence on comparing the Sweeps' voices to those of other characters is done to mark them as specific Sweeps from the Generation 1 cartoon whose voices were performed by those characters' actors. But he's referring to the Japanese version of the show (in which, for example, both Thundercracker and Scourge were voiced by Yutaka Shimaka), so don't hold your breath waiting for us to figure out which ones he's talking about!
    • That said, Sweeps 6 and 7 (voiced by Tomomichi Nishimura and Ken Yamaguchi, respectively) are likely intended to be the ones which appeared in "Call of the Primitives", as they were identified by those numbers in both the English and Japanese versions of the episode, and in the Japanese dub, both Sweeps had lines.
  • Sweep No. 4 represents a Sweep who died in "Five Faces of Darkness, Part 3" after being shot by Wheelie and falling into Jupiter's atmosphere. Indeed, Galvatron ordered him to "meet [his] end with dignity" rather than save him.

[edit]
  • Sweep No. 4 shows up as a ghost. This fits into Japanese superstition regarding the number four (四), which can be pronounced as yon (よん) or shi (し); the latter of which is a homophone of the Japanese word for "death" (死).
