: Stonecruncher is physically identical to the [[Hasbro]]-release, transforming the front half of a dual-crane truck. He can, of course, be connected to any other Micromaster Combiner. Though Excavator nominally forms the back half, Stonecruncher can combine with any other Micromaster Combiner, Combiner Transport or [[Micro Trailer]] in vehicle mode to form new weird vehicles.

This article is about the Decepticon Micromaster. For his heroic counterpart, see Stonecruncher (SG).
Stonecruncher is a Decepticon Micromaster from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Toga! Toga! Toga! Toga!

Stonecruncher is the frat boy of the Constructor Squad. He's loud and enthusiastic about all their missions, and always ready to bellow out, "Constructor Squad rules!" Rather than be annoyed by their bro-bot's attempts to cheer them up by suggesting energon-fueled mayhem, the rest of the team actually appreciate the effort. Despite his crude, party-boy exterior, Stonecruncher is actually a pretty good builder, though he could stand to pay attention to his surroundings when he's all fired up. Unlike many Decepticons, he displays fierce loyalty and protectiveness toward his squadmates, especially his quiet combiner partner, Excavator.[1]

The Transformers

[edit]
"Over?! Nothing is over until WE decide it is! Was it over when the Aerialbots combined into Defensor? Hell no!"
  • Constructor Squad (Micromaster Combiner Squad, 1990)
Released in the seventh and final year of the original The Transformers toyline in the US (sixth and not-final in European markets), Stonecruncher transforms into a crane truck which is intended to be the front half of a bigger crane truck, which he forms with his combiner partner Excavator. He can, of course, be connected to any other Micromaster Combiner to form new weird vehicles.
Stonecruncher was only available in a six-pack with his squad mates Excavator, Grit, Hammer, Knockout and Sledge.
This mold was also used to make Retro.

  • Crane Cannon W Team (Micro Trailer team, 1991)
  • ID number: C-368
  • Accessories: Micro Trailer #8
Takara's Return of Convoy release of Stonecruncher is physically identical to the Hasbro-release.
He was only available in four-pack with the similarly-unchanged Excavator, Power Punch and Direct-Hit. The set also comes with Micro Trailer #8, which any toy in the set can "tow" or be stored within. Like all Return of Convoy characters, he was marketed as an Autobot instead of a Decepticon.

Notes

[edit]
  • In the first Return of Convoy toy catalog, Grit/Knockout and Stonecruncher/Excavator's photos were incorrectly swapped between their two teams. This error had an effect on the second catalog for the series, where a piece of art depicting the leaders of all nine Micro Teams incorrectly showed Grit among them rather than Stonecruncher.
  • In Dreamwave's More than Meets the Eye encyclopedia, Stonecruncher is depicted flipped left-to-right. (His combiner pin is on the wrong side.)

Foreign names

[edit]
  • Japanese: Stonecruncher (ストーンクランチャー Sutōnkuranchā)
  • French: Concasseur (Canada)
  • Italian: Buldozer
