The Transformers

[edit]
  • Accessories: photon pistol, left & right twin launchers
  • First Aid (Protectobot, 1986/1987, 1991)
  • Groove (Protectobot, 1986/1987, 1991)
  • Accessories: photon pistol, left & right twin vaporators
  • Streetwise (Protectobot, 1986/1987, 1991)
All four of the The Transformers Protectobot limbs came with a small weapon (identified as a photon pistol in their instructions and packaging bios) that could be held in robot mode.
They were also available as a Defensor giftset, which was re-released by GiG in 1988 in Italy, with five random "Exogini Transformers" (Decoys) added, and were subsequently reissued in 1991 as part of the European/Australian Classics line. Additionally, in 1992 these molds were also used to make the Operation Combination Guard City team in Japan.

Weirdwolf came with a blue photon pistol that he could hold in robot mode.

  • Nightbeat with Muzzle (Headmaster, 1988)
  • Accessories: Muzzle Headmaster driver, seat/helmet, plasma blaster rifle, left & right photon pistols
Nightbeat came with two small black photon pistols that could be mounted on the hood of his car mode and on the sides of his head in robot mode. In Japan, this mold was redecoed and released as Super-God Masterforce Minelba, where the photon pistols were redecoed into shock blasters.

According to Quake's packaging bio, Heater transforms into a double photon pistol. No version of this character or mold was released in Japan.

  • Accessories: wing laser, 2 missiles
The Transformers Skyhammer's wing laser (as it was labelled in his instructions) was a photon pistol he could use in robot mode, according to his packaging bio.

Notes

[edit]
  • The Protectobots were planned to be redecoed and released as part of Generation 2 but were ultimately cancelled. From the few production samples known to exist it appears that as with BotCon Brakedown's concussion rifle and plasma-energy blaster, their instructions refer to their accessories generically as "weapons" and they are not specifically called out in their packaging bios.
  • For some reason Nightbeat's Dreamwave More than Meets the Eye profile gives him different weapons; instead of photon pistols and a plasma blaster, he is armed with laser blasters and a plasma rifle.

Foreign names

[edit]
  • Japanese: Photon Gun (Protectobots, 光子銃 Kōshi Jū), Wolf Gun (Weirdwolf, ウルフガン Urufu Gan)
