Trickdiamond is a Decepticon from the Unite Warriors portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Boop boop desu-wa!

A self-serving, black market Decepticon with ties to Swindle, the Quintessons, and (if rumors are true) the Chaos-Bringer himself, Trickdiamond is one of Megaempress's 4 Guards. Having power over earth, she wields the earth-shattering Quake Shield.

A Warrior of the Seven Lights resembling Trickdiamond was a member of the Yellow Order. She was enjoying one of the local oases on the Yellow Planet with her comrades when her commander Yellow Splendid Convoy received word of the fall of the Blue Order and the threat of the extradimensional warlord Ultra Megatron Omega from the Primus Vanguard's eponymous supreme leader. She's a pretty good sales rep, except for the nine times she called me 'Wallet' instead of Walter.

Trickdiamond was mentored by Big Wing, whose laid-back approach encouraged her to find her own way, living in the moment and not taking things too seriously. Swindle's II As a result, Trickdiamond gradually drifted into a life of crime and fell in with Swindle, who cut her in as one of his business partners. At Swindle's seedy joint, Trickdiamond encouraged customers to buy contraband energon and bet on illegal skitter races. Swindle's At some point, Starscream quietly recruited her to act as one of his many informants, with the promise that, if Swindle ever took a fall, he'd ensure that she'd inherit everything he owned. Darkness, Once Gazed Upon: Part Two

Trickdiamond is her own best friend.

After the fall of the Tether, Security Operations eventually caught on to the fact that Swindle and his business partners were deliberately stealing surplus energon and funneling it to The Rise; when Prowl's team raided the joint, Trickdiamond unconvincingly feigned innocence after Sideswipe captured and arrested Storm Cloud in front of her, Swindle, and Gutcruncher. Swindle's

Trickdiamond and Headlock later worked together to stage a prison break to help free Swindle, after a brief haggle between herself and her boss. She and Headlock would later introduce Swindle's new associates, Roughstuff and Bumblebee, to the operation. Hunt Bumblebee was a mentor whose charge, Rubble, had been killed by Quake of the Rise. He was obsessive about the topic, and Trickdiamond tried to get him to stop making Roughstuff and the rest of the staff uncomfortable. She tried relating her experiences with Big Wing to him, but they had little in common. Swindle's II

Decepticon martial law proved almost stricter than living under a legitimate government. Profits were already down when Swindle decided to close early for the day, to Trickdiamond's chagrin. When she learned he made a side deal with the Autobot Smokescreen, Trickdiamond was livid—working both sides only worked if both sides were profitable, after all. Calling upon an old conversation, Trickdiamond put in a private call to Starscream and alerted him to the doublecross. Darkness, Once Gazed Upon: Part Two Sixshot brought the Decepticons in to Swindle's, a raid that caught the Autobots but ultimately failed to capture any of them. Sixshot gave Swindle a dressing down afterwards, but it's uncertain whether Starscream followed through on his promises. Darkness, Once Gazed Upon: Part Three

An exclusive? This is what I call shameless!
  • Megatronia (Multi-pack, 2017)
  • Release date: January 31, 2017
  • ID number: UW-EX
  • Accessories: "Quake Shield"
Unite Warriors Trickdiamond is a redeco of Combiner Wars Deluxe Class Jumpstream, herself a retool of Combiner Wars Breakdown. She transforms into a supercar resembling a Lamborghini Diablo.
As a Combiner Wars Deluxe mold, she can also form an arm or leg to any compatible super-robot, though her nominal placement is as the left leg to Megatronia. Her "Quake Shield" weapon combines with those of her teammates to form Megatronia's "Destopia" sword.
She was only available as part of the TakaraTomy Mall exclusive Megatronia box set, the fifth of six sets sold through the outlet, packed in with Megaempress, Flowspade, Lunaclub, and Moonheart.

Notes

[edit]
  • Somewhat unusually, Trickdiamond was given two separate but related names from the outset as a play on playing card terminology. The secondary labels on TakaraTomy material use the English spelling "Trickdiamond", as per the English name of the Diamonds suit. Meanwhile, the Japanese text specifically gives her name as "Trickdia" (トリックダイヤ), as per the Japanese rendition of the suit.
  • Both Jumpstream and Trickdiamond appeared in the 2019-2022 IDW comics, though amusingly, line artist Anna Malkova did not realize until after the conclusion of the series that she had been drawing the same mold![1] It really goes to show the power of a good deco.

Foreign names

[edit]
  • Japanese: Trickdia (トリックダイヤ Torikkudaiya)
