Petra is a place in Jordan, where the Dynasty of Primes hid the Matrix of Leadership long ago.

Following The Fallen's attempt to activate the Star Harvester on Earth, the faithful Primes realized that they had to hide the Matrix from their treacherous brother, or Earth and its sentient inhabitants would all die. Making the ultimate sacrifice, the Primes formed a tomb made of their own bodies in what would later be known as Petra.
