The List is a very, very bad thing to be on.

Being on The List means that you are a Decepticon (or former Decepticon) who has in one way or another stymied the grand plans of Megatron, and thus can expect a visit from the Decepticon Justice Division, during which you will experience an excruciatingly painful death. The only reason you aren't dead yet is because they haven't made it to your name on the list... the D.J.D. is pretty meticulous about protocol, after all. Many rank-and-file Decepticons believe the D.J.D. just makes it up as they go, as they've shown no compunction with killing targets of opportunity (or really anyone who gets in their way) and just what it takes to get on The List in the first place can be incredibly cryptic and stupid to the common 'Con. Sometimes the D.J.D. insists they do not deviate from The List's strict linear order, other times they have proven quite willing to do so, in a way that — intentionally or not — makes it very difficult for targets to devise a strategy against them. However The List is organized and enforced, once you're on it the only way you'll survive being struck off is at the whim of the Division or on orders from Megatron himself.

This article is about the fictional list. For the real-world mobile game event, see The List (Earth Wars).

The List is a very, very bad thing to be on.

Being on The List means that you are an Autobot, Decepticon or former Decepticon who has in one way or another stymied the grand plans of Megatron and thus can expect a visit from the Decepticon Justice Division, during which you will experience an excruciatingly painful death. The only reason you aren't dead yet is because they haven't made it to your name on The List... though the fact that you're on it may only become apparent a few moments after the D.J.D. arrives.

When Tarn arrived on Earth and rendezvoused with Megatron, he noted that the List had grown expoentially in just the few days he had been there. He noted that he had already dealt with Deathsaurus, though the Decepticon had managed to survive. Tarn swore to hunt down the other defectors, including Starscream, Beast Megatron, Ravage, and other Decepticon C.O.M.B.A.T. bots and Predacons. Megatron and Shockwave cautioned him that they still needed Starscream and to be lenient with Ravage, but Tarn retorted that there was no room for leniency, and the only way off the List was through total loss of spark.
