Artemis

Artemis is a gynoid from the Beast Wars II portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

I wonder if she jingles when she walks.

Artemis (アルテミス Arutemisu) would like to tell you all about her life as a teenage robot, but unfortunately, she doesn't have much of one. A gynoid stationed on the moon of Gaea, she was tasked by the ancient civilization that built her to monitor the world below and make sure no one ever abuses the Angolmois energy within. This monotonous existence of watching and reporting has rendered Artemis highly irritable, and she'll often vent her pent-up frustrations on her partner, Moon, by bashing his skull in with a hammer. Teenagers.

And being a teenager, Artemis endlessly fantasizes about romantic fulfillment, quickly developing obsessive crushes on whatever dashing male robot passes by her monitors. Scuba and Starscream are the current objects of her voyeuristic affections, though neither transformer knows that she even exists (and probably wouldn't reciprocate even if they did).

Tens of thousands of years before the arrival of Lio Convoy's Maximals, the people of Gaea discovered the dark secret of their planet's Angolmois energy. If used with evil intent, this colossal energy source would become evil itself. Fearing the ramifications, the people of Gaea fled their planet for deep space, leaving behind two monitor androids in a chamber beneath the surface of the Moon. These androids, Artemis and Moon, were to monitor the planet in case the Angolmois energy was ever corrupted and used by those with nefarious intent. The Gaeans' defense protocols would then take over, destroying Gaea and the Moon to prevent an outbreak of evil Angolmois in the universe. Watching from their satellite, Artemis and Moon were alarmed when Transformers they'd never seen before—extradimensional visitors from Cloud World—suddenly appeared on Gaea. She smacked Moon for comparing her unfavorably to the Cloud Autobots' own robot girl, SARA, then began worrying that Hellscream might take a shine to her. Concealment

After Unicron's defeat at the hands of Big Convoy, and the formation of an alliance between the Maximals and Predacons, Artemis and Moon somehow traveled to Cybertron.

As Big Convoy and Magmatron's forces had one last brawl for old times' sake behind them, the Gaea androids participated in a giant cross-faction party under beautiful cherry blossoms. They shared a drink (tea? sake? oil?) with Bazooka, Crazybolt and Sharp Edge, while Apache and Cohrada slept peacefully nearby (possibly drunk). Graduation Ceremony!!

Artemis was one of the many women brought to the Legends Universe by Tigatron using the ultra-drill in an attempt to get women who liked him better than Springer. It did not work out, as all of the women brought over eventually swooned over Springer. Bonus Edition Vol. 19

Games

Duel Fight Transformers Beast Wars

Artemis wound up battling several Predacons and Maximals in an struggle to obtain a super-powerful energon crystal recently discovered on Earth, aided by her friend Moon.

Together, they could also partake in various other tasks, such as a mission to break a boulder to reveal an energon crystal hidden within before sundown, using a block in a mission to defend themselves against various incoming projectiles, and missions to run across a pit-riddled field, sometimes involving hideously large bacteria that had to be fended off.

She obtained said crystal, after defeating her final opponent, Megatron. However, she was blissfully unaware of the crystal's power, so she decided to use it as a decoration for her room, finding it pretty. Duel Fight Transformers Beast Wars

Artemis is listed as a Predacon in this game, to equalize the combatants in each faction. Each character possessed an alternate ending, displayed if the game was beaten with said character. Each character has only their own ending listed on their pages, see the other characters' pages for Artemis's fate in those outcomes.

• Artemis and Moon are based on a Chinese legend about a lady and a rabbit who both live on Earth's Moon.
• In the Greek pantheon, Artemis was the goddess of, among other things, the moon. Fitting!
