Toy Fair 2010, hosted in New York City from February 1417, boasts "over 20,000 attendies, 350,000 square feet of exhibit space, 100,000 products with over 7,000 never before seen in the world, 1200+ exhibitors, [and] 1000 global media representatives."

MediaWiki was invited to Hasbro's 2010 Collector-Fan Media Day at The Times Center on Saturday, February 13, and wiki contributors David Willis and Greg Sepelak attended. Following a presentation starting at 1pm, fan representatives were allowed into Hasbro's product showroom.

Coverage

Revenge of the Fallen/Adjectiveless Transformers

  • Hasbro wants a "broader scope," and hopes to "reinvent" the line as one that isn't specifically tied to the live-action film, though it may contain characters from it. It will be a general celebration of Transformers.
  • A "HUNT FOR DECEPTICONS" promotion will accompany the line. Codes can be found in packages that will "unlock" mini-games on Transformers.com.

Roleplay

SpeedStars/Action Fleet

  • Stealth Force, larger vehicles with pop-out weaponry
  • A boatload of new R.P.M-scale toys, including characters in robot mode, in midtransformation, and cars with giant wheels
  • The Bumblebee Track Set, featuring vehicle-mode Bumblebee versus a static backdrop of Optimus Prime and Megatron battling

Generations

  • Autobot Drift
  • Thrust (Gentei! Gentei! mold)
  • Darkmount (motherfriggin' Straxus triple changer)
  • Bumblebee (War for Cybertron)
  • Optimus Prime (War for Cybertron)
  • Megatron (War for Cybertron)

Power Core Combiners

Commander 2-packs

Every Commander figure has two heads—one for robot, one for torso. Torso mode can combine with 5-pack drones (see below). Standard Mini-Con Powerlinx points!

5-packs

1 core robot/vehicle & 4 drone-vehicle limbs. Drones can attach to any Commander 2-pack bot to make new combinations. Arm-drones and leg-drones cannot swap functions. Automatic "deploy" transformation when they attach, automatic retract to vehicle when detached. Each drone has Mini-Con powerlinx hardpoints.

Crossovers

Notes

  • While the Toy Fair Transformers press release rechristened the Robot Powered Machines range "Action Fleet", the packaging at Toy Fair featured the name "SpeedStars". "SpeedStars" ended up being the final name for the line.
