This is a very common error, but...you /never/ use "The USS ____" with ship names. "Enterprise", "the Enterprise", or "USS Enterprise" are all acceptable, "the USS Enterprise" is emphatically /not/. |

USS Enterprise is an advanced Federation starship captained by Jim Kirk. It is armed with a variety of weapons, including photon torpedoes. Known personnel include Spock, Doctor McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu, Arex and M'Ress.

Star Trek vs. Transformers
The Enterprise was diverted to the planet Cygnus Seven in response to a distress call from the planet's inhabitants, and sensor interference aboard the ship necessitated a ground-based reconnaissance mission. In the ensuing battle, Soundwave's sonic weapons accidentally un-jammed communications to and from the ship, allowing Kirk the chance to contact Arex and order him to fire a photon torpedo at the Decepticons.
