Andromeda interviewed Needlenose, who off-handedly mentioned sending the Zephyr Blade Mini-Con Team to their deaths in the X-Dimension. Toys

The X-Dimensions (エクスディメンションズ Ekusu Dimenshonzu) Microns are a series of redecos of various Mini-Con Teams released by Takara. These redecos were more limited than the original color schemes, but were still standard retail-sale items (with one exception).

Of the first eleven Mini-Con Team mold-sets, all but one—the Street Speed Mini-Con Team—got the X-Dimensions treatment. Nine of those teams were released close to the originals; the packaging was almost wholly unchanged; only the cardboard cardfront behind the plastic bubble reflected the change by adding "X-Dimensions" to the text and giving the Team a new ID number. The final Team, the Street Action Mini-Con Team, was available only as part of the Toys"R"Us exclusive "Magna Convoy DX set" multi-pack.

Notes

• According to the Legends of the Microns Year Book 2003 retrospective, the X-Dimensions color schemes were planned to be used in an alternate-universe comic story that would follow the conflict from the viewpoint of the Mini-Cons. However, this series was never produced, and no reason is given as to why. A comic series from the perspective of Mini-Cons, Linkage, was produced and packaged with the Legends of the Microns DVDs, but it takes place within the same universe as the cartoon.
• More than a decade after the original, bio- and fiction-less release of the X-Dimensions toys, Ask Vector Prime and Andromeda - Axiom Nexus News Reporter made it clear that they represented new characters and teams.
• Thus far, the only X-Dimension Mini-Cons to have individually appeared in fiction have done so as dimensional refugees in TransTech stories.
• Their description in the TransTech Facebook blogs does not specify if there is only 1 iteration of the X-Dimension Mini-Cons in the entire multiverse or if they have many parallel incarnations as all normal Transformers do.
