The name or term "Skids" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Skids (disambiguation).
Skid-Z is a Decepticon-allied Mini-Con from the Armada portion of the Unicron Trilogy.
He wishes the Z could stand for Zebra.

Impressionable as a dollop of hot wax, Skid-Z was looking for acceptance and something to believe in when he stumbled onto the biomechanical cult formed by Predacon. Even though Skid-Z is unsuitable for the biomechanical conversion process (a severe disappointment to the Mini-Con), his zeal and combat ability have kept him in a high place as one of Predacon's partners.

This has actually put him at odds with Predacon's other Mini-Con partner, Side Burn, who is suitable for the grafting process, but has yet to undergo it. Jealous, angry and more and more unbalanced, there's no telling just what Skid-Z is capable of.[1]

  • Predacon with Side Burn & Skid-Z (Max-Con, 2003)
Available only with Armada Predacon and Side Burn, Skid-Z is a redeco of the Street Speed Mini-Con Team member Spiral, transforming into a Mercedes E-Class luxury car. His car mode wheels are designed to allow for much faster rolling on smooth surfaces. As a Mini-Con, he has a "Powerlinx" socket on his vehicle-mode underside which allows him to attach to any toy with a "Powerlinx" style 5 mm post; some toys have special Powerlinx posts that activate/unlock gimmicks when a Mini-Con is attached.
Predacon was not part of the regular Takara Legends of the Microns line, but released him as a "USA Edition" exclusively through Toys"R"Us Japan's web site, in Hasbro packaging with stickers to convey legal information in Japanese.
The same mold is used by Servo, and retooled to make Jack. The mold was slated to be released as Energon Clocker, but was ultimately cancelled.
