Do you people really need to see this logo in order to realize who Sony is?

Sony is a Japanese-based electronics and media conglomerate.

In the early 2000s, Sony Music's children's division Sony Wonder released a bunch of Generation 1 DVDs and videos in the UK, distributed by Maverick Entertainment.

In the mid '00s, Sony Wonder secured the North American home video rights to the Generation 1 cartoon, and in late 2006 released the 20th Anniversary Special Edition DVD of The Transformers: The Movie.

In 2007, the Sony Wonder division was closed and all licensed properties were incorporated into the main Sony Pictures Home Entertainment division.

Between 2007 and 2009, Sony's mainline entertainment division, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, released DVDs of Beast Machines in France, Australia, New Zealand, Germany and the UK; a 2008 brochure from Sony Pictures Television International says they also hold the international TV rights to Beast Machines, which might explain that- of course, why they don't have Beast Wars is a conundrum.

Sony Computer Entertainment produces the PlayStation series of video game consoles, which has seen a number of Transformers video games over the years. Their former game studio, SCE Studio Cambridge, even developed Beast Wars: Transformers for the original PlayStation. In 2015, Sony cooperated with TakaraTomy to produce Optimus Prime featuring Original PlayStation, a toy that transforms into a scaled down PlayStation console.

For the movie's 20th anniversary in 2006, Sony BMG secured the North American license and released a two-disc special edition of The Transformers: The Movie, featuring both a high-quality widescreen remaster and the original fullscreen version, audio commentaries from crew and fans, several new featurettes interviewing those involved in the movie's production, storyboards, tv spots, American and Japanese commercials and more. Most notably, this version included the first Western release of "Scramble City: Mobilization", albeit silent and unsubtitled, featuring only audio commentary. This release featured two covers by Don Figueroa: one is of the '84-'85 cast that appear in the movie, and one is of the movie's new characters, available either as a lenticular hologram that switches between the two, or as a reversible sleeve with the images printed on either side.
