Vinyl Scratch is a unicorn from the land of Equestria. A DJ known far and wide by her stage name of DJ Pon-3, she performs for sold out crowds alongside her best friend and fellow musician, Octavia Melody. She's not very talkative, but her music tends to speak for itself.

Vinyl Scratch attended Pinkie Pie and Gauge's cooking show, but ran for the exit with the other audience members when Shockwave attacked. They Eat Ponies, Don't They?

Vinyl and Octavia were playing a show in Las Pegasus, only for it to be interrupted by the sudden arrival of Starscream, Thundercracker, and Slipstream on the hunt for magical artifacts. Believing the musicians' stage to be one of these artifacts, the Seekers carried it with them through the spacebridge back to Cybertron, with Vinyl and Octavia still on it. The Magic of Cybertron When King Sombra began taking control of the assembled ponies and Cybertronians, Vinyl and Octavia made a hasty escape,only to run into Sandbar and his friends. While the group debated how next to proceed, the group were attacked by Soundwave, whose sonic weaponry caused the surrounding buildings to collapse and inadvertently trap them all underneath. When Soundwave revealed only a large sonic blast could dislodge the wreckage, Vinyl reconfigured her stage into a powerful bass cannon, though it proved insufficient. With Soundwave and his cassettes similarly failing in their own attempts, Vinyl came up with the idea to directly integrate the bass cannon into Soundwave, exponentially increasing its power. Combined with Octavia's music and Ravage and Laserbeak's firepower, the group finally blasted a hole in the debris and escaped. Upon learning that Megatron had fallen under Sombra's sway, Soundwave suggested that he, Vinyl and the others maintain their alliance for the time being. Sick Beats
