Greco and his colleague Altman were sent to Forbes's Garage to find anything that would lead to the Mechanic, whose criminal activities of recent had made him a priority arrest. The garage was abandoned, but the detectives did find two youngsters in panic about a supposedly haunted car. Altman and Greco took them to the station house, where their captain interpreted the story as further evidence that the Mechanic was receiving aid from the strange robots. As such, Altman and Greco received adjusted orders for the next day's operation to capture the Mechanic: If robots show up, take them out first.

"I wanna roll with the gangsters. But it's apparent I'm too white and nerdy."

Having puzzled out what kind of tech the Mechanic had been obtaining during his previous heists, the police leaked information that a 256 thousand kilobyte Formax computer was being transported through the area, baiting their target into an attempt at stealing it. The plan worked though, as predicted, the robots also turned up during the operation. Per their orders, Greco's squad focused their firepower on Blaster and Goldbug, allowing the Mechanic and his accomplice, Juan, to slip away. Though Greco shot out one of Goldbug's tires, the Autobots managed a retreat as well, leaving the squad empty-handed... if not for the fact that they had anticipated such a scenario. The computer had been bugged with a tracking device, and its signal was followed to the Mechanic's hideout. Upon the police's arrival however, they were once more met with Blaster. This time about, Blaster put down his weapon as a show of good will, and brokered a truce so that the Autobots could work alongside the police, and bring an end to the Mechanic's antics.

Playing the fool, Greco strolled inside the Mechanic's garage with Blaster disguised as a boombox atop his shoulder. Pulling his badge out, Greco gave the assembled criminals within a chance to surrender, before Blaster transformed and used his electro-scrambler gun to make all of the criminals' war machines go haywire. Unable to fight back, the Mechanic's customers were all arrested, and Greco captured Juan personally. The Mechanic himself escaped the law once more, however. Thanking the Autobots for the part they played in the mission, both Greco and Blaster agreed to disregard orders each of them had received from higher-ups, telling them to eliminate each other. The Autobots then sped off as Greco and Altman looked on. Mechanical Difficulties!
