- Carruthers is a human from the Hearts of Steel portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Carruthers is a sub-lieutenant in the Royal Navy of Britain in the year 1888, serving on board the battleship HMS Indomitable.

[edit]Carruthers was present when the Indomitable picked up a lifeboat belonging to the USS Miskatonic, which he knew had disappeared one month prior, and was shocked to witness the dead and seemingly terrified bodies of the occupants. Alongside a fleet of ships from several different nations, the Indomitable was subsequently sent to Port Cenotaph to investigate the disappearances of the Miskatonic and other ships, and found that the town was occupied by an Elder God and its fish people and war machine minions. Rightly confused by all this, Carruthers participated in the battle against these eldritch forces. Infestation 2: The Transformers #2
