After obtaining an M.A. in Physics from Oxford University, he promptly opted to turn to writing. Much of his work is in role-playing games and gamebooks—he even co-created an RPG system called Dragon Warriors with Oliver Johnson. He also wrote a number of tie-in novels for the likes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, ReBoot, Knightmare, Captain Scarlet, Thunderbirds and HeroQuest.
