Twitch welcomes a new Terran to the family…

Synopsis

Twitch gives a rousing speech of encouragement to the fleet of drones, however they begin flying off before she can finish, prompting her to complain to Wheeljack. Though Wheeljack is proud of the new features he's added, such as hyperspeed and stealth, a number of the drones end up malfunctioning and deactivate. Spying an Embershard, Twitch moves in with the last two remaining drones and snags it, moments before Soundwave arrives and advances on her menacingly. She denies all knowledge of an Embershard, so Soundwave sics Ravage on her and she's soon being pursued by both Ravage and Laserbeak. While Twitch struggles with Laserbeak, the containment on the shard breaks and it falls, forming into a new Terran on the way down. Realizing the newborn Terran can't fly, Twitch zooms to the rescue, getting her to scan the last remaining drone. The Terran reformats into a green twin of Twitch and lands safely, allowing Twitch to make introductions.

The pair return to the farm where the rest of the family is training, and Twitch introduces Spitfire to everyone. Though some of the family isn't enthusiastic about having a Chaos Terran stay with them, Dot says Spitfire can stay. Twitch shows Spitfire around the Dugout, and Spitfire is fascinated by the Embershards which the Maltos have collected so far. Twitch stops her from touching them, and takes her to visit Optimus Prime. The Autobots have an important mission they want Twitch to fly point on. Spitfire immediately believes she should be on the mission instead, leading to an argument, which prompts Megatron to invoke the Polyhex Protocol — the pair must battle for the position on the mission.

An obstacle course has soon been set up. Alex is thrilled to discover that by the rules of the protocol, even he gets to compete. Megatron fires a flare to start the race. Jawbreaker is first to be eliminated, getting stuck under the crawl nets. Thrash fails to clear the tires when Dot blasts him with water from a hose. Nightshade likewise fails to clear the rope swing. Hashtag collapses the overhead bars, also eliminating Mo and Robby and leaving just Twitch, Spitfire and Alex in the race. They move on to the next obstacle, scaling slippery poles to a zip line. Alex is able to move into the lead, but when his zip line stalls, Twitch successfully passes him. Spitfire, now at the back, severs Alex's line on the way past, and his cries for help stop Twitch short of the finish line. She immediately heads back to catch him when he falls, allowing Spitfire to finish the race. Spitfire is outraged when Optimus pronounces Twitch the winner, having disqualified Spitfire for endangering Alex's life.

The outraged Spitfire grabs Twitch and pulls her into the now-stormy sky, demanding she admit Spitfire won. Twitch fires, but proves unable to hit the faster Spitfire and as they clash, Twitch starts spinning, creating a mini-tornado. Spitfire does the same, but Twitch proves more powerful and comes out on top, demanding Spitfire leave her and the Maltos alone. Spitfire has another trick up her sleeve, pairing with Twitch to gain control of her, but midway through the process, the pair are struck by lightning and fall from the sky. Robby and Nightshade swoop down and catch Twitch, who says the others were right and Spitfire is dangerous.
