Chop Shop stumbled into a face-off between Megatron and a group of Autobots while seeking energon at a spawn point. He was reluctantly recruited by Megatron to his team for the resulting mission — a summit race. He was hit by various traps, but still made it to the top first, alongside Mirage, netting him the energon he craved. He left alongside Megatron at the conclusion. What Goes Up

Released in the second wave of Cyberworld Armored Cyber Changers, Chop Shop transforms from 4-inch tall robot mode to a stag beetle in 4 steps, with his whole torso compressing in one motion as his chest is flipped up, drawing in his arms and shifting the backpack down to meet his calves. The figure comes with a gear driven hammer-like weapon with flip out grabby pincers and a blade in its center. The contraption can also be held as a gun, though Chop Shop can't hold it like one in robot mode since the insect legs on the toy's arms get in the way.
Like other Cyber Changers, the toy has limited articulation, with ball-jointed shoulders, hips, and hinged knees. He has 3 5 mm ports on his back and one on each arm. No 3 mm stand port though! The beast mode mandibles, as well as the pincers of the weapon, are all removable and attach via 5 mm posts. The stock photo at right shows the bug legs on his shins pointing down, but they can be positioned pointing upwards for a slightly more pleasing look.
Chop Shop's overall robot mode design is based on Beast Wars Insecticon while his color scheme draws from Energon Insecticon and the toys of the Prime Insecticons. Guess they wanted a name more marketable than "Insecticon" this time!
