The Dark Saber Mini-Cons feel strange, and the Terrorcons gain a new member who comes bearing gifts.
Synopsis
The components of the Dark Saber tell Armada Megatron of the mysterious pull they are feeling from an unknown entity. Megatron, understanding that this may affect their usefulness in combat, decides that they will find the source of their problem. They request permission to leave the Primal Basilica, but Armada Wheeljack reminds them that they could be captured by any of their many enemies if they went out, or, as Demolishor suggests, another of the Thirteen Primes that they haven't met yet. In the interest of helping them narrow it down, Sideways shows up and reveals that an artifact called the Magnificence can answer any and all questions they have. Pleased, Megatron welcomes him into the fold.

Gameplay
This event was an individual totaliser on the Mayhem gamemode, meaning players unlocked points on their own as opposed to with their Alliance. As a Mayhem event, each battle was still won by destroying the HQ, but instead of the rest of the buildings and defenses being destroyed upon them doing so, they could continuing destroying the remaining structures until the 3-minute timer is up to gain additional points. The one caveat is that these bases cost a whopping 15 fuel cells to raid, compared to alternative, easier (but lower-rewarding) 5-fuel-cell-worth bases in the same zones. The top prize was a crystal for a random 5-star Raiden or Dinoking component.
Notes
- When the event first went live, the attached story dialogue was the Decepticon side of the "Third Armada (Part 2)" "recap" for some bizarre reason. (Most likely, someone on the dev team got the story dialogues mixed.) This would be fixed not long after.
- The proper dialogue is labeled as "The Saga's Latest (Part 2 of 2)", which lines up with the previous event only carrying the first part.
Continuity notes
- Like Metalhawk's Star Sabre (but not their direct counterpart) in "Go with the Flow", the Dark Saber Mini-Cons are feeling a strange pull. Presumably, it is the same one, which is most likely the presence of Prima, who was introduced in this saga.
- As with the previous dialogue, this story features a listing of the names of the Terrorcons' many enemies. The bots in question that are mentioned are Bomb-Burst (who once possessed the Requiem Blaster and has begun working with Megatronus Prime as of late), Megatronus Prime (who tried to take the Requiem Blaster and Forge of Solus Prime in "Third Armada (Part 2)" and has most recently placed one of his agents, strongly implied to be Sideways, undercover in the Earth Wars), and the other two Megatrons (who have been fighting with their Armada Universe counterpart over the Artifacts of the Primes since they were introduced into the war). Also like "Go with the Flow", an as-of-yet-unseen Prime.
- Sideways joined the Earth Wars in "Questionable Comrades" as an Autobot, where he offered to go undercover and worm his way into the main Decepticon faction. In the introductory dialogue for his Decepticon unit, Megatron (the original one) tasked him with infiltrating the Terrorcons.
Transformers references
- Sideways makes mention of the Magnificence, an ancient Cybertronian artifact introduced in the early years of the 2005 IDW continuity (by, of course, Simon Furman). Later on, in the Lost Light series, it was revealed to be the head of Epistemus, a member Cybertron's Guiding Hand pantheon. Before he was forced to truncate Revelation, Furman had plans to show that using it had a consequential price; he also considered making it a Quintesson artifact, but decided against it. Whether or not any of these ideas for the Magnificence will pop again in Earth Wars' story remains to be seen.
Errors
- The Dark Saber is consistently (and erroneously) spelled as one word.
