The name or term "Sledge" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Sledge (disambiguation).
Sledge is a Decepticon Micromaster from the Generation 1 continuity family.
You could have a steam train, if you'd just lay down your tracks.

Sledge is a warrior first, and a builder a distant second. While his construction work is professional, his first joy in life is scrapping his enemies. Like his teammate Stonecruncher, he displays a surprising amount of loyalty to the Constructor Squad. Despite his intelligence, he's lacking in imagination, and isn't really a designer by nature, so his teammates usually need to touch-up his work. He's also not good at focusing his attention on more than one thing at a time. His combiner partner is Hammer.[1]

Trust me. I know what I'm doing.
  • Constructor Squad (Micromaster Combiner Squad, 1990)
Released in the seventh and final year of the original The Transformers toyline in the US (sixth and not-final in European markets), Sledge transforms into the front half of a Wabco Haulpak 3200B orange dump truck (albeit one with some extra wheels), which is intended to be combined with his partner Hammer to form a complete sledgehammer dump truck. He can, of course, be connected to any other Micromaster Combiner to form new weird vehicles.
Sledge was only available in a six-pack with his squad mates Hammer, Excavator, Grit, Knockout and Stonecruncher.
This mold was also used to make Cement-Head.

  • Crane Cannon W Team (Micro Trailer team, 1991)
  • ID number: C-368
  • Accessories: Micro Trailer #7
Takara's Return of Convoy release of Sledge is physically identical to the Hasbro-release.
He was only available in four-pack with the similarly-unchanged Hammer, Grit and Knockout. The set also comes with Micro Trailer #7, which any toy in the set can "tow" or be stored within. Like all Return of Convoy characters, he was marketed as an Autobot instead of a Decepticon.
