- A cigar is a nicotine delivery device from the Generation 1 continuity family.
A cigar is a tube of dried tobacco leaves. They are designed so that a human can place one end in his mouth and light the other end on fire and puff the resulting smoke.
They are apparently also referred to as stogies.

Abner of the United States military liked cigars so much that he lit one up, only to be chastised by a superior, who reminded him that they were running "dark" and the light from a cigar would give away their presence. Abner tossed the cigar while mocking the idea that somebody would attack the train they were defending. The train was soon attacked by the Insecticons' locomotive mode. Hearts of Steel #2
Mark Twain enjoys cigar smoking. He once used a lit cigar to ignite a natural gas leak in a home occupied by Ravage. Hearts of Steel #3

To suppress Kup's flashbacks of slagging everyone on the planet with the crystals, Kup was given a cy-gar—a pump-thing that fed him a synthetic version of the planet's crystal energy. Apparently, cy-gars were used millions of cycles ago as a kind of, well, cigar or joint that fed poison into the user. Perceptor, who helped develop the special cy-gar, was assigned to Kup's unit with a supply of cy-gars to provide to Kup when needed. Everything in Its Right Place
When Commander Daniel Witwicky asked him what was with his "cigar", he inquired as to what a cigar was. All Hail Megatron issue 12
Notes
- Kup was introduced in All Hail Megatron chomping on a cigar-like object as a form of humanizing. This caused significant enough fan commentary that Shane McCarthy belatedly hung a lampshade on it. Nevertheless, an in-fiction explanation was later retconed for it by Nick Roche in the All Hail Megatron Coda.
