A young Optimus has a terrifying encounter while on a training mission; Swindle profits to ridiculous excess from an argument between Lugnut and Blitzwing.

"Survival Skills"

Synopsis

On a distant planet, Optimus is alone on a training exercise when he sees the rescue ship arriving early... only it's not a rescue ship, it's the Decepticon leader, Megatron. Though frightened, Optimus keeps his wits about him and rams Megatron in truck mode, but gets stuck in the mud while trying to escape. He blocks a fatal blow from Megatron's sword and uses his fire foam and grappler to ensnare Megatron, but just when he's about to dispatch the Decepticon with his axe, Megatron impales the Autobot with his sword.

The whole mission turns out to be just simulated combat, however, and Sentinel sneers to Elita-1 that Optimus got his skidplate handed to him. Ultra Magnus interrupts, however, and states that Optimus scored higher than anyone else on the combat simulator. Magnus then tells an incredulous Optimus that he expects great things from him.
