As Nougabot has informed us, Snickers® Brand quickly becomes one of the planet's favorite treats after its introduction in 1930 and it is still at the top in 2008.
February
On February 18, Clyde Tombaugh discovers what appears to be a previously unobserved object moving inside our Solar System. This "planet" is later named Pluto, after the roman god of the underworld, not after Mickey's dog, who is in fact named after the planet.
