The dog was crossing the street when a car drove by a crazed driver was about to hit it. Bumblebee came to the dog's rescue by making the car block transform into Mega-Bumblebee, who itself saved the dog. After some guile, Bumblebee got Optimus Prime's permission to own the dog.
