Pretender Starscream Request
I don't have Pretender Starscream to test this, but I see the entry says the tail fin guns can't be stored, which I'm fairly sure is wrong. I believe the fin guns can peg into the holes on either side of the upper part of the rifle. Can anyone verify this for me?--MCRG 22:17, 4 August 2010 (EDT)
I had that figure a few years ago and yes it was possible to do that. I remember it not feeling like it was quite designed to do it, like it was just a coincidence they could stick on there but it was certainly possible.86.31.91.215 09:47, 1 August 2012 (EDT)
Secret Starscream
Nakas of Autobase Aichi has put forth the idea that "Secret Starscream", like Super Collection Figure Skywarp, was never actually sent out due to the bankruptcy of Keibunsha, the publisher. I *think* either the Binaltech And TF Collection book or one of the Generations 2009 books shows Secret Starscream, but I'd have to check to be sure, and I'm not sure what exactly is said about the piece either way. --Monzo 20:31, 10 December 2009 (EST)
- Ah-ha. It was in Generations 2009 volume 2.
- Anyone want to take a crack at what that says? (At least we can get rid of the red speculation 'til then.) --Monzo 23:33, 12 December 2009 (EST)
- The page says:
- The toy is the Prize A (and not-for-sell) for the Keibunsha mook Transformer(s) Generation(s)".
- Although the details aren't revealed on the book, its plastic parts are all transparent.
- The package is as same as the one used for #004.

Transmetal Waspinator
I think it should also be considered a Starscream toy due to its portrayal in fiction. Trust me in this one.ACIDSTORM92 20:47, 28 February 2010 (EST)
- Which fiction? --ItsWalky 21:42, 28 February 2010 (EST)

- Considering that Optimus Primal gets a bunch of random entries on his toys page, because he gets a new body for five seconds in some Japanese text stories, shouldn't we put both Waspinator's Regular beast and Transmetal body on this page? --Ascendron 16:40, 9 January 2011 (EST)
- Wait... it just hit me... Starscream possesses a bunch of bot's in his ghost appearances, doesn't he? Urgh. What a nightmare... Maybe just a note or something... --Ascendron 16:43, 9 January 2011 (EST)
- I'd go with notes. Starscream possesses these others, their bodies are still their own. On the other hand, if a character ("Character A") is given a new body all his own that is a duplication of another character ("Character B")'s body the toy representing that body should be considered as a repurposed toy for Character A. --Khajidha 17:12, 9 January 2011 (EST)

Alternate caption idea
I think perhaps a funnier caption for his first Masterpiece toy would be "I look like.... Thundercracker." ZeldaTheSwordsman 19:05, 22 July 2010 (EDT)
GID MW Starscream Missiles
I have an odd variant of the MW Starscream figure that includes Glow-In-The-Dark missiles. The stock in South Eastern CT (as well as who-knows-where-else) seemed to include these in good numbers, as the original that I bought (and still have) included them, as did a second example that I sent to Orson Christensen/Sidecutter (of Captured Prey) in trade (or if my memory is failing, he may have verified that the one he bought in KY also included them...in any event, he confirmed that I didn't have the only one)
I have always assumed (since they're not standard) that this was just an example of lax QC on the line, and someone tossed GID plastic pellets into the hopper because it was pretty close in color to the right plastic and no one noticed.
In any event, I recently pulled the box with MW Screamer out of storage and tonight I verified that I really really do have phosphorescent missiles. I tried a few different things to take a picture but haven't had much luck. Any suggestions on how to provide photographic proof are welcome, or if the powers-that-be are willing to accept my tale on faith, I could just add a note to the entry... --Destrongerlupus 21:10, 16 November 2010 (EST)
Recent Starscream toys
By the way why there is a rubsign on a G1 toy that comes with lots of accessories including fists, null rays, wings, tail rudders, tails, thrusters, landing gear and the Decepticon planes era Starscream? I thought rubsigns are introduced in reveal the shield?(Ihateyawning 23:56, 24 January 2011 (EST))
- Rubsigns were introduced in 1985 and have been used as recently as Classics and the Universe reissues. "Reveal the Shield" did not introduce them, it merely brought them back into the public eye. --NCZ 23:58, 24 January 2011 (EST)
Things One, Two and Three
1) Like MCRG above, I was pretty sure Pretender Starscream's robot guns could be mounted on his shell's rifle. Can anyone confirm this? I don't have him. Am I being misled by Metalhawk? 2) I'm pretty sure, but not certain, that the Ghost of Starscream statue is probably not actually translucent polystone, but what is it? PVC? ABS? Surely some kind of plastic. 3) Whoever wrote the Skystriker Starscream blurb seems to have forgotten about Ti Megs. Actually, I'll just fix that one. -LV 10:09, 31 March 2011 (EDT)
Masterpiece Starscream
Given I have watched Macross, I do not think that the scabbard side fins on MP-03 are an homage to Armada or Energon. This is a common cheat Kawamori employs when designing jets. If you don't believe me look at the YF-19
http://ghostlightning.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/macross-plus-yf-19-mmm.jpg
or the YF-21

I think whoever put that in there is under the spell of wishful Armada fanwanking.
2013 Generations Armada Starscream
Since IDW has repurposed this as a new body for IDWG1 Starscream, should that toy be posted here as well? Or perhaps a note made of it? --Altercron 10:38, 8 October 2013 (EDT)
- I believe it should, just as was done for WFC Shockwave. --MistaTee 10:57, 8 October 2013 (EDT)
- Oh yes, there's no question it should be. I think we just haven't done it yet because it hasn't actually appeared in the comics yet. - Chris McFeely 10:59, 8 October 2013 (EDT)
- Ah that makes sense. I haven't been keeping up with IDWs series, relying on TFWiki for that. --Altercron 11:09, 8 October 2013 (EDT)

- Assuming he'll come packed with an IDW G1 comic, we might have to list this guy mainly on the (G1) page, and as a repurpose on the (Armada) page, with the toys on both pages being listed with a note concerning the repurpose, just like what we did with both Thundercrackers. --Inkblot 18:19, 8 October 2013 (EDT)
ah, now i find a talk section, after the edit. -facepalm- Still needs a bit of work i think, in the written bit. --Mini-master 08:12, 8 November 2013 (EST)
Neutered Missile Launchers?
In various entries for the '84-'85 toys, it is said that the Hasbro missile launchers had their springs weakened or removed. Was this a running change or something? Over the winter break I went home with my brothers and we went through a lot of our old toys. Among them was one of '84 Starscream's original launchers and two cluster missiles... let me tell you, that sucker is NOT neutered; the missile can fly pretty far, definitely farther than the Commemorative reissue. I'm pretty sure Ratchet and Ironhide's little missile firing thing worked, too, but I can't remember how strong they were (I had a few other figures that had missile launchers but I cannot recall if they worked or not).
Anyways, just something to throw out there. I may go in and edit the comment later if I'm feeling bold. Magaroja (talk) 22:27, 27 March 2014 (EDT)
- I'm no expert on G1 variants but from some quick googling: if the Starscream in question is a dark gunmetal grey colour (link, see lower figure: [1]) it may be the Mexican release, which had fully functional missiles. Alternatively, pre-rubsign figures supposedly also had stronger missile springs - pre-rub Seekers can be identified by having smooth, non-ridged cockpit canopies. Failing these, I'd hit up some Transformers forums to seek expert opinions - I'd hesitate to change any articles on the basis of a single incidence... Jalaguy (talk) 11:12, 28 March 2014 (EDT)
- Hmm, I suppose he could have been pre-rub; all the stickers have fallen off, unfortunately, and he's in such a state of disrepair that his cockpit is gone, along with the wings (which could tell me if the tips were sanded down or remolded). I'll take a look at the color, but I don't think it's a Mexican release; we lived close enough to a Toys'R'Us growing up that I'm confident he was purchased there. Variant or HQ bootleg?
I just got a "Reveal the Shield" Starscream from Family Dollar. It came is a packager where the upper front was an IDW style picture of Starscream with "Transformers" in block letters on one side. The package had all the trademarks and info for Hasbro on the package. It's got the 3 mm peg holes but no guns, and the plastic seems to be of good quality. Is this a proper variant of the figure that just "forgot" the guns, one where the guns were intentionally left out, or is it a really accurate (packaging/accessories aside) bootleg? I can take a pic of a packaged sample later if it will help. --King Starscream (talk) 19:42, 21 April 2014 (EDT)
- New release. http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generations-classics-44/transformers-classics-legends-new-style-packaging-at-family-dollar-179473/ Antimatter (talk) 20:24, 21 April 2014 (EDT)
Chronicle facepaint? and captions
Don't want to edit something incorrectly, but Starscream_(G1)/toys#Chronicle says "This version of the figure is nearly identical to the painted helmet variant of the Hasbro release, except the entirety of his head is painted black", but the pic shows him with a non-black face. Does that pic show the correct toy? Is the text in error?
Also, i added two captions, but they aren't quite as perfect as i'd like. If anyone can improve them, that'd be nice--or if you've got something better, go for it. (What about "Legends tell of a Starscream who pretends he's not evil or spiky"?)

Wing peg extension
The pegs on the wings were extended for the reissues but I don't see any of them here mentioning the retool at all, let alone which one was the first to use it. Takeshi357 (talk) 12:30, 19 March 2016 (EDT)
