- Hound is an Autobot from the live-action film continuity family.
Hound is a technical specialist and highly experienced, gutsy Autobot commando. He is a boisterous warrior who throws himself into every mission with no more worries than a duck landing on a pond, and quick to draw any of his many, many guns. And while his tendency to switch from gun to gun in quick succession in a single battle often leaves him bereft of weapons and ammunition, Hound's bravery and resourcefulness is never in doubt. The only thing that just might take a toll on him is the loss of a friend; Hound's boisterous streak hides a soft-Sparked 'bot, who despite arguments and bickering, loves his fellow Autobots and commander even more than he loves a good rumble. It's this love for his comrades that makes him such an effective warrior. He will take on an entire Decepticon army if he has to, and he would sooner go down swinging than abandon his allies on the battlefield.
He is good friends with the far more relaxed Trailbreaker, although the other Autobot's more relaxed attitude sometimes gets on Hound's nerves. He is also sometimes partnered with the Dinobot Slash.

Hound was among the Autobots who went into hiding on Earth after Cemetery Wind began hunting down the Autobots. Hound was overjoyed when Optimus Prime returned to the surviving Autobots. Though delighted that the Autobots were a team again, Hound expressed his immense distaste of humans following their betrayal. He didn't take kindly to Drift's haikus defending humanity, and nearly came to blows with him before trying to open fire on Cade Yeager, his daughter Tessa, and her boyfriend Shane. That night, Hound was sobered when Optimus asked if there were signs of any other surviving Autobots, and thanks to Cade's tinkering with Cemetery Wind's drones, the Autobots learned of an attack on Ratchet, as well as Leadfoot's demise. Hound was saddened to learn of his friend's fate, and saluted his fallen comrade, bitterly cursing his assailants as "savages". The loss of Leadfoot helped convince Hound to join in Cade's mission to infiltrate KSI.
However, the Autobots suffered another blow when they learned of Ratchet's death and subsequent melting down for raw material. Hound gladly joined in the enraged Optimus' attack on KSI. After fighting their way through several rooms and facilities, the Autobots came upon the imprisoned Brains, who Hound took the time to free from his predicament. Hound was eager to kill Joshua Joyce for the atrocities he'd committed, but after a lecture on how the Autobots now meant nothing to humanity, Optimus quietly ordered a retreat, to Hound and Brains' disappointment. The Autobots fled KSI, only to be pursued by Galvatron and Stinger. The Autobots were subsequently separated from their leader and thus unable to save Optimus and Tessa from Lockdown.
The Autobots, Cade and Shane ventured to Chicago, and covertly stowed away on Lockdown's ship (though Hound admitted it was probably a bad idea). After warning the group about Lockdown's inevitable booby-traps, Hound had to aggressively prod Crosshairs into helping rescue Optimus and Tessa. Hound took charge of the Autobots and led them in the search for Optimus, assigning Cade to search the cell block for Optimus and Tessa. Eventually, the group found Lockdown's high-security vault, where Hound had a disgusting encounter with an alien life-form. Despite the creature's relative harmlessness, Hound couldn't find it in him to let it survive, and quickly destroyed it. It was at that moment Optimus made his presence in a cell known, and ordered Hound to commander the separate ship docked with Lockdown's the cell block was in, though he confessed to Optimus he was a "sucky" pilot. Indeed, when the team regrouped, the ship was found to have made an extremely rough landing. Hey, at least the big guy was honest.

Optimus ordered the Autobots to abandon humanity forever and flee to the stars aboard the stolen ship, a plan Hound was soundly with. After Optimus and Hound revealed the Creators' hand in Earth's past and their race's origins, Brains revealed Galvatron's nature as a reincarnated Megatron. Optimus ultimately decided to stop Galvatron, retrieve the Seed, and subsequently leave Earth for good. Hound piloted the ship to China, and left the pilot's seat in order to help retrieve the Seed from Joyce. However, incoming fire from Galvatron's army knocked him and Bumblebee into the streets of Hong Kong.
Although he ended up briefly stuck in a building thanks to his plump shape, and did not appreciate Joyce calling him fat (the inventor earned one of Hound's cigars being flicked at him in retaliation), Hound fought tooth and nail to protect the humans and the Seed from Galvatron's forces with Bumblebee's support. When Hound found himself running out of ammo and weaponry, he convinced Cade to join the battle with him. Despite overwhelming odds and an enormous amount of enemy fire whittling him down, Hound fought on as long as he could, also utilizing his skills as a "fat ballerina" to his advantage. After taking out a group of KSI Transformers with a grenade, Hound finally ran out of ammo, but fought on using his hat, belt, and even his cigar. Hound finally collapsed, exhausted from the battle, but was reinvigorated when Optimus joined the battle with the Dinobots. Hound soon joined in attempting to escort the Seed to safety, but when Lockdown arrived and unleashed his ship's tractor beam, Hound escaped its influence and helped escort the seed across a nearby bridge to safety. Soon, Lockdown was defeated, and after regrouping, Optimus assigned Hound and the Autobots to protect the Yeager family before departing into space with the Seed. Age of Extinction
The Last Knight film

In the years since Optimus Prime's departure from Earth, Hound had taken refuge at Cade Yeager's junkyard with the other Autobots. Hound regularly helped set up one-way phone calls between Cade and Tessa, who was away at college. One day, when Cade and Bumblebee were caught in a stand-off with the Transformers Reaction Force, Hound arrived to provide his friends with extra firepower. Cade was able to defuse the stand-off, though Hound egged on the TRF to shoot him as he departed. Hound unknowingly had two stowaways in the form of the young Izabella and her companion Sqweeks, who hitched a ride back to the junkyard with him.
They were soon visited by Daytrader, who Hound considered the "most irritating, annoying Tranformer" and threatened the rogue with violence the entire time, especially since he'd been slacking off on his promise of getting them a ship. Later, after trying to explain his weight to the newly arrived Izabella, he set up another call between Cade and Tessa. However, the call went on for too long, and knowing they were risking detection, Hound was forced to cut the call short. Hound apologized and reassured Cade that he was a good father before bemoaning how his own father never called him. The next day, the Decepticons, asisted by the TRF, found and attacked the junkyard. While Cade led the others away to set up a trap in a nearby town, Hound stayed behind to buy them some time, despite Cade's protests. Hound faced off with Megatron but was quickly taken out of the fight by a blast from his fusion cannon.
Much later, after recovering, when Cybertron had made its way to earth and loomed in the skies overhead, Hound joined the other Autobots in heading for Stonehenge to partake in the forthcoming battle, as Daytrader finally delivered Lockdown's former ship to them. Hound warned Izabella that things were going to get ugly, but she easily convinced him to let her join them. Hound agreed she could use the "field trip to the front lines" to get some battle experience, and the Autobots met up with the returned Optimus, though Hound complained that he didn't get a chance to say hello before Optimus flew off to lead the attack. En-route, he and the other Autobots observed the Guardian Knights with mixed feeling, with Hound declaring that they "looked like wusses".

Hound and Bumblebee shared an Orbital Assault Carrier to tangle with some airborne Decepticons forces, but he soon hopped off to provide some aid on the ground to their human friends. Even with their combined firepower, Hound was unable to push forward thanks to the presence of a gun emplacment and the Infernocons, Hound knowing he didn't have enough ammunition to take on Infernocus. Eventually Sqweeks cleared a path, and Hound joined Optimus, Bumblebee, Hot Rod, Cade, and Viviane Wembly in charging forward, though he mocked the other humans for abandoning the fight. Within the control center, he once again took on Megatron, this time alongside his fellow Autobots; however, Hound's lack of speed and cumbersome weapon made him yet again an ill-matched opponent against their much faster opponent. Hound was almost killed by the Decepticon leader had it not been for Hot Rod's (literally) timely aid. With Megatron briefly frozen in a time bubble, Hound vowed to blow his head off and let loose a rain of gunfire that managed to knock Megatron back for a moment while Hound recovered his momentum. Though Hound was further plagued by the weightlessness of the falling ignition chamber, Viviane ultimately saved the day, and Hound returned to Cybertron with his fellow Autobots. The Last Knight
How to Ride a Dinobot! comic
Hound was taken to a dense Chinese forest to learn how to ride a Dinobot. Despite his initial aghast horror at the prospect, Hound sucked it up and decided to attain dominance over his chosen mount, Slash, by bossing it around. Unfortunately, this reckless show of aggression earned him a rather goofy, humiliating kick, and he remained in a disoriented pile until Optimus mounted Grimlock and ordered the Autobots and Dinobots to ride out to battle. Hound was among the Autobots who accompanied Optimus Prime to Earth in response to a signal from Bumblebee alerting them to the presence of the All Spark on the planet. After being informed by Bumblebee's human companion Sam Witwicky that the lost Decepticon leader Megatron was also on Earth, Prime dispatched Hound and his close friend Trailbreaker to investigate the Arctic cavern in which Megatron's body was originally uncovered. Taking some drones with them, Hound and Trailbreaker discovered that the Decepticons Shockwave and Thundercracker had had the same idea. As Megatron's body had already been moved by Sector Seven anyway, Hound and Trailbreaker had nothing to lose by planting bombs in the cavern, hoping to entomb the two Decepticons in ice. Unfortunately, the two villains escaped at the last minute, having discovered that Megatron had brought an army of drones to Earth with him to help search for the All Spark—drones which were currently lying dormant around the Earth.
Shockwave brought Megatron's drone army back on line soon after, and they attacked the Autobots en route to Hoover Dam. Ironhide and Ratchet forced the origin of the drones from a defeated Thundercracker, and Wheeljack quickly concocted a virus that would send them back into sleep mode. Hound and Trailbreaker were charged with getting the virus transmitted into a satellite so that it could be broadcast to all the drones at once, and they broke into a communications center belonging to "The Corporation" (apparently a Sector Seven front company) to use their communications dish. Decepticon drones dogged their every step, blowing up the first dish they found and forcing them to move to the complex's airstrip to find another. Unfortunately, the drones cut off the power supply to this dish, requiring Hound to power it up manually while Trailbreaker uploaded the virus. "Uploading the virus", for some inexplicably bizarre reason, involved Trailbreaker violently attacking the dish control panel, causing both it and the dish to explode, hurling Hound's body across the complex. The virus was successfully transmitted to the drones, knocking them offline, but at the cost of Hound's life. With the last of his strength, Hound asked Trailbreaker if the plan worked, but he died in Trailbreaker's arms before his friend could answer.

Hound has a love for Earth's boundless wonders of nature even more than Cybertron. The brave and faithful Autobot secretly desired to become a real earthling. For Hound, the earth showed him nothing about Cybertron, which was why he wanted to leave at first. On his patrols, Hound would dare to lock on the enemy outpost's position. During his leisure time, Hound would freely explore Earth's natural scenery. However, Hound also knows that this sensation is a temporary setback, not a permanent one. In comparison to the rest of the crew on the Ark, Hound fights not just loyally but also professionally and fearlessly. Unlike the Autobots, though, Hound secretly wants to be as carefree as a human.
In battle, Hound wielded the "Grips of Justice" and the "Roaring Gravity" shotgun. His active skill was "Weapon Master":

- Part of the second wave of 2010 Transformers Legends Class toys, Tracker Hound is a redeco of Universe Legends Class Autobot Hound in black, with gold striping, silver details, and metallic-blue eyes. He transforms into a somewhat outdated, old-fashioned army Jeep. For legal reasons, the vehicle mode has been slightly tweaked, such as sporting squared headlights and horizontal vents in the front grille, as compared to the characteristic round headlights/vertical grille vents design of a real-life Jeep.
- Although the lack of a bio makes the figure's continuity placement difficult, it both featured different Tech Spec numbers from the original Generation 1-themed release of Legends Hound, and was listed as "movie" product in the Japanese Transformers Generations 2011 Vol. 1 guidebook.

- Autobot Hound (Power Battlers, 2014)
- Hound features a basic transformation from robot to tactical vehicle. His only regular articulation is a universal joint for his left shoulder, whilst his right arm features a spring-loaded "Quick Draw!" gimmick that allows him to raise an attached shotgun weapon.

All of his weapons are capable of being stored in both his vehicle and robot mode. His beard, helmet, and forearm bandoliers are made out of rubber. In robot mode, he sports faux-kibble tires on his feet.
- The TakaraTomy version, part of the second wave of Movie Advanced Series toys, features black and brown on his vehicle and robot mode. Hound's helmet has a silver stripe running down the middle and his beard is grey rather than black. His gray plastic is a lighter shade.
- Autobots United 5 Pack (Platinum Edition, 2014)

- Platinum Edition Autobot Hound is a repainted version of the Voyager class figure above, featuring mostly screen-accurate details. His green plastic is slightly more olive than the forest green on the regular version, the grey is a lighter shade and he features some camouflage paint operations on his vehicle mode, although this does not cover his robot mode parts. His vehicle mode now features a version of Hound's pin-up girl "nose art" on the cab, except the girl herself has been removed, leaving only a falling bomb in front of a roundel.
- Hound was released as a BBTS shared exclusive "Autobots United" set along with a G1-inspired redeco of Optimus Prime and screen-accurate redecos of Bumblebee, Drift, and Crosshairs.
- Hound Army Camo Ver. (Voyager, 2014)

- Available only with the Japanese BD/DVD release of Transformers: Age of Extinction, Army Camo Hound is an even more screen accurate redeco of the Voyager Class toy, featuring olive drab and black in place of forest green and grey plastic and adding many multi-tone 'camouflage' paint operations all over both vehicle and robot mode. It also incorporates the Platinum version's modified "nose art". Packaged in a monochrome box, Hound Army Camo ver. is limited to only 3000 pieces.

- Released as part of the second wave of Construct-Bots Dinobot Riders, Hound transforms into a military van. He includes a small gun. He is designed to ride any larger Dinobot figure from the same line.

- Autobot Hound with Wide Load (Dinobot Warriors, 2014)
- Hound is a larger figure that can transform from a military van and into a robot. Unlike other Dinobot Warriors figures, he doesn't come with a standard weapon, though his box artwork and instructions show him using one of his shoulder armor parts—which resemble rocket packs—as a hand weapon.
- He comes with Dinobot partner Wide Load who can launch a projectile from his mouth as well as form various weapons for Hound.
Kre-O
- Lockdown Air Raid (2014)
- The "Lockdown Air Raid" Hound Kreon has a ferrous-metal backpack that lets him be snatched up by the magnetic claw on Lockdown's ship (or glomped by the magnet-mouthed Dinobots, but you wouldn't do that, right?).
- While he uses the "Generation 1" Hound helmet, there is actually a way more screen-accurate military-style helmet piece they could have used for him.
- Autobot Hound (Custom Kreon, 2014)

- Part of the second wave of Age of Extinction Custom Kreons, Hound has mostly the same tampographs as the "Lockdown Air Raid" version, but adds headlamps to his shoulders. His torso, arms, waist and legs have a metal-flake sheen to them... and he's wearing the Starscream-style helmet rather than the Hound-style one for some reason.
- His "normal" helmet and revolver-style pistol are chromed, plus he comes with an extra clear-plastic helmet, torso and legs. He also has a pair of extra arms (originally from the Kre-O Battleship aliens), plus a buildable sniper pistol, a heavy cannon, an assault rifle, and the missile backpack.

- Again based on the character's design from Age of Extinction, this set includes the other four main Autobots from that movie. Hound comes with an axe.
- This set was not available in the U.S., seemingly only seeing release in various Asian markets.
- Samurai Autobot Hound (Kreon Warrior, 2015)

- Part of the second assortment of blind-bagged Kreon Warriors, Hound has been reimagined as a robotic samurai. Appropriately, he eschews melee weapons for a (non-firing) crossbow, plus a pair of shuriken pegged to his legs that he can hold in his hands if you like.
- Like all the Kreons released that year (at normal retail at least), he uses the new 2015-tooling Kreon body, which basically involves small construction changes on every part below the head, making them largely incompatible with the prior Kreon parts (heads still work fine), but the new tooling adds some extra functionality and structural support.
- The Kreon Warriors were only released in Canada, Australia, and various Asian markets. The individual bags had also abandoned any kind of coding that identified the contents. This means getting the one you want from an unopened bag involves either trying to feel out the unique parts, or just buying the whole dang case.
- Wild West Autobot Hound (Kreon Warrior, 2015)

- Also part of the second assortment of Kreon Warriors, this time Hound is decked out in old west gear, possibly intended to be some kind of armored rail car in his nonexistent alternate mode. Them shuriken sure are spur-like!

The Last Knight
Legion Class
- Autobot Hound (2017)
- Released as part of the third wave of The Last Knight Legion Class figures, Hound is a Legends-sized robot that transforms into a tactical vehicle in just a few steps. He features 3mm compatible hands and his feet have sculpted split faux-wheels, which protrudes from the back of his alt-mode. Like Drift, he features a sculpted insignia on the left side of the vehicle door.
One-Step Turbo Changer

- One of the two new molds in the first wave, Turbo Changer Autobot Hound is a small & simple figure that transforms from vehicle into robot by folding his vehicle front to his back. His only articulation is his arms, and features 5mm compatible hands. Hound also features a nearly invisible tampograph on his vehicle front, which can be revealed with Mega Turbo Changer Dragonstorm's UV-powered Cyberfire gimmick.

- This Hound is a redeco of the figure above, featuring red wheels and various Tech Spec-sque patterns on the beer gut & shoulders which can be decoded with their transparent red weapons, which is molded in a sprue similar to the ones used for the Arms Microns kits and 2015 Robots in Disguise Mini-Con figures. He can use any weapons included in this set, although his primary weapon is a Scimitar-like weapon.

- Part of the second wave of Premier Edition Voyager Class toys, Hound is a new mold that transforms into a backless Mercedes Unimog tactical vehicle. The figure comes with four guns, that can combine into a weapons turret to compensate for the back of the vehicle mode. The figure also features a removable helmet. If one should find this incarnation of Hound's arsenal to be lacking, worry not. The figure has twenty-four hardpoints throughout the body and included weapons, six of which can accommodate the smaller pegs found on the previous version's small arms, allowing the figure to re-purpose and arrange his old arsenal in a number of ways, even including specifically molded holsters on his thigh kibble for the guns that originally stored within his legs on the 2014 version.
- Like some of the toys with some trademark issues involving the Red Cross organisation, Hound's red cross tampographs on his robot mode helmet & vehicle doors were removed from the revised stock photos. This change also applies to the Japanese release. At least one sample possesses the red cross tampograph.
Movie The Best

- Movie the Best Hound is a redeco of the Premier Edition figure above. Rather than the weapons included with the Premier Edition toy, he includes the guns and knife from the AOE Voyager, as well as a new shield that becomes the truck-mode bed shell seen on Hound's vehicle mode in the movie.
- This release still lacks the Red Cross symbols and any Autobot insignia, and although he now has the portion of the vehicle where Hound's pin-up girl "nose art" should be, it is also absent (lacking even the Platinum Edition's "Girl Minus Girl" version).
Notes
- Hound is the first on-screen Autobot with a military vehicle alternate mode.
- While his robot mode does not involve drastic changes in his appearance in The Last Knight, his vehicle mode undergoes a big change, from the Oshkosh Defense truck to a Mercedes Unimog tactical vehicle.
- Hound, along with Crosshairs, did not have any on-screen transformations until The Last Knight was released.
- The Designer Desk video for Age of Extinction Voyager Hound refers to his biggest gun as a "triple-barrel Phalanx cannon". This suggests he's toting around part of a Phalanx close-in weapon system, which is a specific type of ship-based Gatling gun normally used against incoming missile fire. Hardcore.
- The first trailers for The Last Knight featured Hound with Red Cross insignias, which were removed in subsequent trailers. However, he retained them in the theatrical movie, with muted colors. The digital cut of the movie changes their colour to blue. Early CG stock renders for his Voyager Class toy had them as well, as well as stock photos depicting a near-final toy. The actual toy released at retail lacks them, though, and a more common version of the stock photos has them edited out.
