Hi, regarding those Animated screencaps you've uploaded - perhaps you should used the youtube video somebody else shot that was from a *much* better angle, because the crooked angle from this video is terrible, and makes for bad pictures. We would prefer no pictures at all if the alternative is a bad ones.

Also, please use the copyright tags when uploading pics, for even screencaps are the intellectual property of Hasbro and whomever they produced the fiction with. Thanks. --FFN 16:37, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks. I just went and changed Sari and Blackarachnia's images and replaced them with the improved shots. Unfortunately, the Dinobots are MUCH harder to see in the non-skewed images, so I left that one as is. Copyright statements have been added to all of them as well.
Thanks! --FFN 17:41, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Citations needed for ROTF voice list

You added voice credits for a couple of ROTF characters on the ROTF page. Can you place provide the citation for them? As in the source. --FFN 15:54, 21 May 2009 (EDT)

Done. -- Cyberlink420 22:27, 21 May 2009 (EDT)

Transformers Devastation weapons

Hey, would it be cool if I spun off the list of Devastation weapons (and their origins in Transformers lore) into its own page? I agree that my edit was making the references section a bit long, but the fact that every single weapon in the game is connected to earlier cartoons and toylines seems like relevant information. I could split the list between melee and ranged weapons and sort them by status effect or rarity to make it easier to read and more useful to consult. -SuperGinrai (talk) 17:24, 28 September 2017 (EDT)

Nihongo

Why are you adding a template nobody asked for? Saix (talk) 15:03, 5 October 2017 (EDT)

I don't see the problem? It's built for Japanese names, and it doesn't look any different than what we had; might as well use it. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 15:36, 5 October 2017 (EDT)
If it performs no actual function and was never used in the five years since it was created, then, no, we do not have to use it. Saix (talk) 15:45, 5 October 2017 (EDT)

wikia.com/wiki/c:mlp: VS mlp.wikia.com/wiki/

I access this wiki on mobile, and the present addresses only give bland 404s. The full addresses I gave work on both mobile and desktop. Also, Star Swirl the Bearded listed before, and Twilight Sparkle listed after are both linked in full form. ReBoot Fan (talk) 05:08, 31 January 2018 (EST)

Yep, I see the same issue too. Interwiki links to Wikia are broken for mobile, both here and on other sites such as Wikipedia. Hmmm. --abates (talk) 05:24, 31 January 2018 (EST)
So, may I revert to my link changes on My Little Pony and Discord (animal)?ReBoot Fan (talk) 05:42, 31 January 2018 (EST)
It's probably for the best for a short term solution. --abates (talk) 06:01, 31 January 2018 (EST)
Yeah, I don't typically browse the site on mobile since it's not really built for it, so I had no idea Wikia's interwiki links were no longer working on mobile. Go ahead and revert back to the direct links for now; if Wikia fixes things, we can always change it back later. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 08:16, 31 January 2018 (EST)

Superhero pages

We had already come to the conclusion a few years ago that those notes didn't add anything to the pages, and had removed them. Escargon (talk) 14:07, 7 June 2018 (EDT)
News to me; I've been here since Wikia, and I don't remember that discussion happening. Still, I agree that the lists were getting a little out of control, but I figured reducing them down to just the names and thereby preventing further bloat every time someone reprises a role is a decent compromise. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 14:11, 7 June 2018 (EDT)

/*WHY R U DOING THIS!? AND WHY DO YOU KEEP DOING THIS!?!?!? R U INSANE OR SOMETHING!?!?!?!?!?*/

Will people please just stop banning me and sending me messages saying that I'VE DONE SOMETHING WRONG!?

It's not really my fault if you get mad at somebody over a few removed commas, but this just seems rather deliberate, the way you keep directing your apparent frustrations at me and only me!

Because of recent events and in light of them, I feel like I must ask you these questions: Am I the first and only person to present this problem? And if so, then what makes you and the other people in charge of this wiki personally inclined to act with what appears to be such understated aggression?

I am having a lot of trouble making sense of the "New messages (last change)" notifications I keep receiving from you, abates, Saix, and many others.

Look, just tell me precisely what it is you're trying to prove here, and maybe, just maybe I'll actually understand you.

For the record, I'm not an admin, so I'm not the one handing out blocks; so far, only abates and M Sipher that have put you in time-out. But if you're wondering why you keep getting told off, it's because you keep removing commas meant to be used for basic formatting and grammar, overlinking far more than necessary (sometimes even to incorrect or irrelevant articles), making minor changes to the verbiage that aren't meaningful and are sometimes grammatically incorrect, adding things to categories they don't belong in, and generally making a lot of edits that don't really serve to make the article any better. As a result, people revert your changes because they aren't helpful, and the fact you keep doing things that people tell you not to means you're only continuing to cause the other editors frustration and bringing these time-outs upon yourself, especially considering that you haven't responded to any of the messages posted to your talk page up until now. And trust me, you're not the first, but you're the only one currently on this much of a streak, and you're painting yourself as a target for repeated reversion and moderation and reversion because you just keep doing it. Instead of saying "It's not my fault you have a problem with my edits" or "I'm being unfairly targeted", maybe realize that if this many people are reverting you and posting on your talk page, maybe it's an indicator that you need to stop and listen to what people are saying instead of just lashing out or continuing the same bad habits. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 20:13, 18 June 2018 (EDT)

MST3K

Because in the "Real-world references" section, a Wikipedia article is far more helpful than a article that consists of a few paragraphs that only gives the vaguest glimpses at what something really is. Escargon (talk) 20:02, 27 August 2018 (EDT)

That article also links to the Wikipedia article for people who want to seek out more information about the property itself while also providing context for other influences or uses that property has in Transformers. If a user is on TFWiki and we have a page on the subject, it's not unreasonable to think that they might want to see it. And if they want the full story, it's only one extra click. Besides, lots of articles have been like this since the beginning. We have real-world references to Metal Gear that link to Snake's article. We have references to X-Men that link to that article. It's genuinely not as much of a problem as you're making it out to be. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 20:45, 27 August 2018 (EDT)
I despise it there as well, but honestly, it's not a fight I'm particularly willing to have. Escargon (talk) 20:59, 27 August 2018 (EDT)

Reversions to Skulk page images

Hey, I saw you changed the images on the Skulk page - does it make sense to have the picture of Infernocus at the top, when it's Skulk's page?

WE'RE GONNA DIE (WFC)

Ok, sorry if I start a new discussion, but in Revenge of the Fallen (movie), there is a "BW reference" about Megatron's famous "yessss". And is CLEARLY marked "probably not intentional". So, why I cannot write a similiar thing here?

It probably doesn't belong on there either. -- Cyberlink420 (talk)

Q-Transformers

The videos you linked to aren't the actual episodes, they're the outtakes. Escargon (talk) 10:11, 6 February 2019 (EST)

Are they? Shoot. I know they had separate outtake videos, but I thought the ones I linked were the real ones. I'll take care of it. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 10:22, 6 February 2019 (EST)

STOP UNDOING MY EDITS

Why do you keep undoing my edits? Specifically the ones to RID and Energon. First of all, Energon is not stupid and rubbish. Sure, it's full of animation errors, but so what? G1 is too, yet you seldom see anyone calling g1 stupid. Second, RID is a terrible series. Maybe it's animated better than Energon, but its rubbish plot and annoying as hell characters (Sideburn is one of many) make it a worse series than Beast Machines and Energon put together. SuperKilogram (talk) 12:23, 8 March 2019 (EST)

Those are subjective opinions, and they're the outliers. The vast majority of people hate Energon not just because of animation errors, but because of poor dubbing, mistranslated scripts, obnoxious characters, a plot that drags on too long because it basically repeats the same story twice, etc. Whereas Robots in Disguise is actually fairly fondly remembered. (And for the record, people make fun of G1's countless animation errors all the time.) Either way, we only declare something as "bad" or "good if it's a belief expressed by a majority of fans online and in critical reception; your opinions alone don't speak for everyone else, and TFWiki articles are not the place for your personal vendettas. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 12:26, 8 March 2019 (EST)

User Page

Hi, Cyber;ink420! How can I create my user page? My account is already auto-confirmed. Sonikkustar (talk) 13:56, 18 March 2019 (EDT)

It's not immediately available to new users. Give it a bit. Also, if you're going to start a new conversation on someone's talk page, please make it a new subsection; otherwise it just looks like you're replying to an existing conversation with something totally unrelated. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 14:03, 18 March 2019 (EDT)
Okay. Thank you! Sonikkustar (talk) 14:04, 18 March 2019 (EDT)

Current year template

Thanks for finding that. I THOUGHT we had something like that, but couldn't figure out how to find it. --Khajidha (talk) 08:42, 22 March 2019 (EDT)

No problem. It's a lucky thing I remembered we were using it on the Ruined Forever page. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 08:44, 22 March 2019 (EDT)

Thank you!

Hello Cyber,

Just to say thank you for removing the commas in several articles where I put the french voice actors, now I understood that a pipe | is better :)

Thank you too for correcting my article about Anne Plumet, my english isn't that good but you understood what I meant :D

Animated best show ever!

See you later on the wiki

SoundSky

The voice actor listings are divided into two sections, the first for the English and Japanese voice actors and the second for all others. The section with all others is separated from the English and Japanese section by a pipe. This collapses that section so that you have to click on the "more" to see it. Names within the "other voice actors" section should be separated by commas. We try to document every voice actor in every language, but having them all visible by default makes it harder to find the text about the events in the cartoons. Take a look at the voice actor section here to see how it is done with large numbers of voice actors and languages.--Khajidha (talk) 10:10, 26 March 2019 (EDT)
Oh I understand now... Thank you, I got it! :D --SoundSky

Powa Pro

Please stop. The Japanese name—the only one relevant to our wiki—is パワ, or "power" without the r. It is not パワー, the actual Japanese transliteration of "power". Saix (talk) 09:41, 5 April 2019 (EDT)

You put パワ in any translator, it's going to spit out "power". There's nothing wrong with interpreting it as such. (Also, if you're going to be that literal, it should be moved to "Pawapuro-kun".) -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 09:46, 5 April 2019 (EDT)
Google Translate is a tool, not an authority on linguistics and nobody versed in Japanese is going to read パワ as a direct transliteration of power. It's an abbreviation in the first place! Saix (talk) 00:58, 6 April 2019 (EDT)
You're right, it's an abbreviation. Of "実況パワフルプロ野球" (Jikkyō pawafurupuro yakyū). Specifically, that bit in the middle. "パワフルプロ" (Pawafurupuro), a transliterated version of "Powerful pro". Strip out the "furu" in the middle, and you're left with (パワプロ) Pawapuro. Last I checked, and removing "ful" from the word "powerful" doesn't also remove the R; the intended meaning is still there. Plus, by virtue of being an abbreviation, they're not going to add an extra character, even if it's the "correct" spelling. Plus, you know, there's the fact that Konami literally localized it as "Power Pro". So you've got a translation tool, the context, and the official localization all pointing to "power". This isn't a discrepancy or a localization change like Belmondo; this is the clearly intended meaning and you're the only one still claiming otherwise. But if you're insistent, why don't you change it to "Pawapuro-kun" instead? "Powa Pro-kun" is a weird half-step between the two interpretations, and that only serves to please no one. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 01:33, 6 April 2019 (EDT)

Bullet point insignia

All the images you put the Delete template on are in use in toyline pages, but because of the way it works it doesn't appear on the image's description. --Riptide (talk) 17:44, 10 April 2019 (EDT)

Oops, that's my bad. I tried using "what links here" as well, but nothing seemed to show up, so I thought they had been replaced by the larger insignia. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 18:09, 10 April 2019 (EDT)
Don't worry - easy mistake to make. I'm going to put Template:Templatepic on those images for clarity. --Riptide (talk) 19:05, 10 April 2019 (EDT)

Image formatting in templates

Hey, so I noticed that you have been editing the image widths in templates so that the image doesn't poke out the bottom of the notice box. That's something I've been doing as well, and have done to all the templates I could find (except for some, such as CaptionBastard and SignYourPosts that I can't edit without admin rights), as you can see here. However, I found recently that this kind of formatting is inconsistent and depends on your browser window's resolution; earlier, I fixed some stuff on my Chromebook, but when I opened the same page on my desktop I found that the image was still exceeding the bounds of the notice box. What I'm saying is that just changing image width seems to only be a partial solution; we may need to look into a more permanent fix, one that's consistently correctly-formatted for all users. Genitus (talk) 16:04, 12 April 2019 (EDT)

Unfortunately, I don't know of any solutions for such an issue given what (comparatively little) knowledge I have of the wiki's limitations. It might be better to ask someone like Abates who's more well-versed in what the wiki software does and doesn't allow for, see if there's something that can be implemented. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 18:24, 12 April 2019 (EDT)

Ratbat

Hi, sorry if I start a new discussion, but are you sure that G1 Ratbat animation model can be found in Transformers: Devastation videogame? If so, please, can you tell me where did you get your screenshot? (Also because I finished the game and I didn't see it so I want to miss nothing.) Thank you!--RoboWarriorPrime (talk), 27 April 2019

Like it says on the page, you can't actually see or fight Ratbat in the game. However, the model they were going to use for the fight is still on the disc, but it never gets used anywhere. The model was even ripped from the game's files and uploaded to The Models Resource some time ago. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 02:31, 28 April 2019 (EDT)
Yeah yeah, I know that you cannot fight him, I meant Ratbat as collectible. However thank you--RoboWarriorPrime (talk), 27 April 2019

Good point

Thought it wasn’t stretched, borders were just put on the sides. I read the image guidelines, i now know how to upload images here, one question, it is okay to use lossless compression to shrink file size? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 0ff-ModelB0i (talkcontribs).

That should be fine, yeah, as long as the file size isn’t out of control. Keep in mind, though, that most people are only going to look at these images as tiny thumbnails on the character and episode pages, so they really don’t need to be that big. It’s rare that we need anything bigger than 720p. — Cyberlink420 (talk) 01:41, 13 July 2019 (EDT)

What is your problem?

Why are you deleting all my edits? You explained to me why the "references" I was adding to pages don't count as such and I accepted that. When I made a remark on the Maximum overdrive page that Optimus Primal used a similar command, you reverted that. I thought, fine, it needs to be his own page, so I made it into one. What was wrong with it and why did you delete it? Nhaz (talk) 09:59, 16 July 2019 (EDT)

I don't have the power to delete pages. MSipher, one of the site administrators, deleted it because (in his exact words) "This is a severe reach." All I did was delete the link to the page since it didn't make sense to link to something that wasn't there anymore. You need to chill out. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 10:24, 16 July 2019 (EDT)
"A severe reach"? Alright, I'll take it to him. -- Nhaz (talk) 10:27, 16 July 2019 (EDT)

Rung

I suggest you to read Movie Dropkick's page. There you'll see that I'm not a liar. RoboWarriorPrime (talk), 20 July 2019

Then that should probably be removed too. We've done the same for pages like Hot Rod and Impactor in the past. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 15:09, 20 July 2019 (EDT)
Good, I think it too but I want ask you a thing (I am not angry, OK? It's just a comparison of opinions): I've never understood why BB Dropkick and Drone Dropkick are in the same page.RoboWarriorPrime (talk), 20 July 2019
It was already debated for a few months and decided that the two weren't different enough nor their fictional appearances varied enough that they couldn't co-exist on the same page. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 16:30, 20 July 2019 (EDT)
Good, thank you. RoboWarriorPrime (talk), 20 July 2019

File dimensions

Hey, can you tell me how can I do a smaller file dimension? Because, I don't know the exact procedure.RoboWarriorPrime (talk) 29 July 2019

What program are you using to save your images? -- 08:23, 29 July 2019 (EDT)
Snipping tool. RoboWarriorPrime (talk) 09:49, 29 July 2019
Well there's your problem. Snipping Tool captures tend to have huge filesizes. If you want a quick and easy fix, take the image you saved using Snipping Tool, open it in Paint, then save it again. Paint tends to process images at a lower dpi than Snipping Tool, so you should be able to just re-save the images with no change to the dimensions and get a nearly identical image at only a fraction of the file size. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 10:07, 29 July 2019 (EDT)
Thank you very much. RoboWarriorPrime (talk) 10:09, 29 July 2019
I've just tried your council. Why it didn't work? RoboWarriorPrime (talk), 06 August 2019
Walk me through exactly what you did so I can figure it out. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 15:57, 6 August 2019 (EDT)
I took Nemesis's image with Snipping Tool. After it, I opened the image in Paint 3D and at last saved it. RoboWarriorPrime (talk), 06 August 2019
But I didn't save the image when I've captured it the first time. RoboWarriorPrime (talk), 06 August 2019
Not Paint 3D. Just plain old Paint, the one that comes pre-installed on Windows. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 17:00, 6 August 2019 (EDT)
Ok, thank you very much. RoboWarriorPrime (talk), 06 August 2019

Siege Hot Shot

Hasbro announced Hot Shot as part of the toyline. He seems a mix of his Energon and Cybertron versions. Where can we add him? Henkei! Henkei! Hot Shot or Armada/toys Hot Shot? RoboWarriorPrime (talk), 10 August 2019
