Transformers GT: Mission GT-R (franchise)

Transformers GT: Mission GT-R (トランスフォーマーGT MISSION GT-R) is a 2013 TakaraTomy toyline created in collaboration with the Super GT racing championship series. All toys in the series are heavy retools of the Alternity Convoy mold, transforming into 1:32 scale Nissan GT-R racing cars representing real-life cars participating in Super GT. While they all have the same base mold, each toy features a unique head, weapon and GT Sister, a human partner in the form of a Microman-based race queen figure.

Events
Transformers GT x Kid's Walk
TakaraTomy also collaborated with "Kid's Walk", events organized by Super GT to boost interest in sports car racing among children by letting them and their parents visit the racing circuits on special pit walks with activities and prizes. During the 2013 season's Kid's Walk, TakaraTomy contributed in the form of Transformers GT x Kid's Walk where they gave away toys of new character Safety Prime. This exclusive toy is a redeco of 2010 Transformers Legends Class Prowl, available in limited quantities and only given to children in middle school or younger.
Team Mach
For the GT300 season of 2013, TakaraTomy promoted Team Mach by having two Transformers GT-themed race queens present at the races and reporting the team's progress on their "Team Mach TF Girls" website. The race queens, Mai Nishimura and Kelal Yamamura, wore outfits based on the GT Sister Ai.
In 2014, Team Mach's own Nissan GT-R wore various TakaraTomy sponsor marks, including a prominent Autobot insignia on the roof. TakaraTomy based a new Autobot named Mach Five Racing Prime on this car, and an actor dressed as this character appeared at various Super GT and Transformers events throughout the year.
In 2015, TakaraTomy gave out toys to children at events again, this time in the form of a Q-Transformers Nissan GT-R R35 Optimus Prime toy decoed like Team Mach's car.
Notes
- The GT toys were available with exclusive calendars featuring art of the respective robots and GT Sisters if pre-ordered through Toy Hobby Market/TakaraTomy Mall. The deadline for Prime and Saber was March 31 2013.
- GT-R Maximus was originally slated to be GT-03, but was pushed back to GT-04 with Megatron becoming GT-03. This may have had to do with the fact his original promotional art featured the same head as Prime rather than the newly tooled head the figure comes with.
