Rabbit Kid
- Rabbit Kid is a Beastformer from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Born on the island of Rabbihos, Rabbit Kid (ラビットキッド Rabitto Kiddo), or Rabbi (ラビ Rabi) for short, had a great life until the Decepticons invaded his homeworld, Beast, raising an insurgent army from the dissatisfied cold-blooded Beastformers. As the Decepticon-allied Beastformers conquered the planet, Rabbit Kid joined White Leo's resistance army. Along with Hedgehog, he was shot into space to track down the good Cybertronians, the Autobots, in hopes they would come to help drive off the Decepticons and restore the old regime. He also holds the rank of King of Rabbihos, over Emperor Bluehorse. He has a tendency to be careless and hastily jump to conclusions, and as a result there are those who dislike relying on him, but his heart is in the right place.
Rabbit Kid's main skills in the Autobot Beastformer forces are as a communications combatant and his unmatched jumping power. His MVP Weapon, the Rapid Spear, can be thrown at speeds faster than light to take out any airborne foe, and he's the only one who knows how to use it. He has close bonds with fellow soldiers Hedgehog and the avuncular Yellow Giraffe.

The Rabbit Kids were a species of Beastformer, part of White Leo's forces against the Decepticon invaders and their Beastformer allies, led by Alligatron.
While patrolling space in the battleship Maximus, the Autobots discovered a pair of aliens floating in space in exosuits. After being brought in, they introduced themselves as Rabbit Kid and Hedgehog. The duo pleaded for help in driving the Decepticon invaders off their formerly-bucolic homeworld, so the Autobots set course for the planet Beast.
On the planet, a Rabbit Kid was part of an attack on the Decepticon stronghold that failed and forced the rebels into retreat. The Rabbit Kid with the Autobots soon led them to the rebel forces, and several Rabbit Kids were in the crowd cheering on and welcoming the Autobots.
The Rabbit Kid slaves were rescued through the efforts of Daniel, Wheelie, and the Monsterbots. At the same time, a Rabbit Kid was part of a White Leo-led force out to rescue the slaves. The two groups of Beastformers joined together and emerged from the caves to see the Decepticon Transformers retreat. Rebellion on Planet Beast

Following the end of the Beastformer civil war, Rabbit Kid traveled to Bistoram to reinforce its defenses against the encroaching Laser Beasts, unfortunately leaving his own nation vulnerable to an invasion. The Laser Beasts conquered Rabbihos and killed Bluehorse, angering Rabbit Kid who requested that the Beastformers locate the legendary Hunters and employ them against the invaders. When the other Beastformers refused, Rabbit Kid set out with only Bombsheep by his side and eventually located the Sheep Hunter, returning during a battle to send the Laser Beasts fleeing. He was certain the vehicles would spell victory for the Beastformers, but in a later battle his Sheep Hunter was toppled by the Laser Beasts' Battle Savanna. Beastformers VS Laser Beasts
Legends comic
Rabbit Kid continued using the Sheep Hunter during the war with the Laser Beasts. LG51 Doublecross Prologue Rabbit Kid participated in the final battle between Beastformers and Laser Beasts on Beast in 2023. He watched as a portal opened to reveal 2021-based Transformers and their allies fleeing the end of the Legends World; he was soon cheering on the Monsterbots defeating the Laser Beast-controlled Battle Bases. - Part of the first series of Takara's Beastformers toys, Rabbit Kid is an aqua-colored anthropomorphic rabbit in darker-aqua robotic armor. The rubsign on his chest reveals one of three symbols; Fire, Water or Wood.
- He was re-released in the subsequent second and third series; while the toy proper was not changed, the packaging and packed-in bio card was. The Series 1 release comes in a generic red-grid "Cybertron Beastformer" box, with a red-grid bio card with a painted character image on the front, though there was a random chance of his card being replaced by the rare "Holography Mirror" card. Series 2 came in a green-grid generic "Cybertron Beastformer" box, with the bio card putting the painted image on a jungle backdrop. Series 3's box was unchanged, but the bio card replaced the painted image with a simpler line-art image, first used in Hasbro's Battle Beasts cast poster. In the green-box releases, depending on the "Pack" he came in, there was a chance of his bio card being replaced with a rare "Secret Photo", "Bewitching Serpent Seal", or "VS Holography Mirror" card.

- Re-released in the Transformers-less Beastformers sequel series, Rabbit Kid was given a straight re-release with new packaging and a new, more filled-out bio card with corrected coloring. This new card also gave his weapon, now branded an "MVP Weapon", the name "Rapid Spear" (ラピッドスピア Rapiddo Supia).
- The initial early releases of this series had the chance for any Beastformer to have the rare Burstsun symbol; we'll probably never know if Rabbit Kid was ever actually one of them. Later in the run, the "mood ring" styled rubsigns were replaced with new rubsigns that revealed full-color Fire/Wood/Water images on black backdrops. (These rubsign variants also happened at the same time in the Hasbro Battle Beast version of the line.)

- Rabbit Kid was also available packed in with the Sheep Hunter vehicle. Some of the Rabbit Kids from this pack have been slightly retooled, with shorter ears and a rounder tail.

- A small, super-deformed, articulation-free version of Rabbit Kid was sold both as a gashapon capsule prize by Takara, and as a candy toy with "chocoballs" through the candy/ snack company Meiji. The candy toy version came with a bio/data card with its own role-playing rules, using the old Transformers-era painted character art.
- This stumpy lil fellow could be found in red, blue or green plastic, representing the Fire, Water and Wood elements (even though he still had a rubsign). All of the Meji Beastformers comes with a different Beastformer's weapon attached to their shoulder by a snippable sprue, common for inexpensive toys of that nature. Rabbit Kid came with Deaspider's "Death Binder" weapon, while Badshark comes with Rabbit Kid's "Rapid Spear".
Notes
- The 1987 checklist poster artwork for Rabbit Kid incorrectly gives him a golden spear. The recolored version used in the 1988 series corrects this mistake.
