The Notorious B.I.G.
Christopher George Latore Wallace (May 21, 1972 – March 9, 1997), better known by his stage names as The Notorious B.I.G., Biggie Smalls, or just Biggie, was an American rapper. Rooted by his upbringing in Brooklyn, and East Coast hip-hop, he was best remembered for his distinct laid-back delivery of lyrics offsetting the content of his songs. Many of which were inspired by his troubled childhood and frequent encounters with the law.
One of his songs, "Juicy" was remixed for the initial trailer for the 2023 film, Rise of the Beasts. While the 2007 remaster of "Hypnotize" was featured in both the finished film proper and the Spotify playlist.
The Notorious B.I.G. was assassinated at the age of 24 in the early morning hours of March 9, 1997 from a drive-by-shooting.
Notes
- Actress Angela Bassett portrayed his mother, Voletta Wallace in the 2009 biopic, Notorious.
- The surname of the character Elena Wallace in Rise of the Beasts was a reference to the rapper's real name.
