Trying to compensate for something there, guys?

The Matrix Blade is the ultimate expression of the power of the Matrix shared by Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus in their combined form of Omega Prime. In moments of desperate need, the energy of the Matrix will burst forth and coalesce into the absurdly huge sword, the power of which few foes can withstand.

Fiction

2001 Robots in Disguise cartoon

While Omega Prime and Galvatron engaged in a one-on-one battle at the centre of the Earth, the Autobots' human ally Koji was busy attempting to re-energize the drained Fortress Maximus. When Koji informed children all across the world of the Autobots' plight, their desire for the Autobots to succeed infused Fortress Maximus's harmonic resonance protocols with energy–energy which the giant then redirected through the Global Space Bridge to Omega Prime. The Matrix within Omega Prime's body was flooded with this energy, and brought forth the Matrix Blade, which Omega Prime was able to use to end the tyranny of Galvatron once and for all. • Super God Sword (2000)
A blue redeco of the Master Sword included with the Japanese release of Fortress Maximus, the Super God Sword came with two handles: the original, allowing it to be held by Brave Maximus, or the longer, staff-style handle seen in the cartoon, which allowed it to be held (sort of) by the Omega Prime toy. This was effectively an either-or proposition, as the handles are not made to be interchanged once attached. What appears to be Cybertronian writing on the sword's base actually reads "Till All Are One" in garbled text.
The Super God Sword was only available as a prize in a postcard drawing advertised through TV Magazine, Hyper Hobby magazine, and a television commercial. The contest ran from mid-September to the end of November 2000, and the sword was limited to 1000 pieces.
This mold was also used to make Grand Maximus's Master Blade.

  • God Fire Convoy Special Clear Version (2000)
The Super God Sword was later made more widely available (comparatively speaking) on November 23, 2000 when it was included as part of a giftset exclusive to Japanese Toys"R"Us stores, which featured translucent versions of Super Fire Convoy and God Magnus. This version only included the staff handle, so could not be held by Fortress Maximus. The sword itself remained opaque as a straight repackaging of the original release.

Encore

In this Encore reissue multi-pack of God Fire Convoy, the Super God Sword is now redecoed with black stickers and a smoky translucent purple tip to better match its appearance in the show's final duel.

Legacy

  • Omega Prime (2025)
The HasLab crowdfunded figure for Omega Prime includes his signature big honking sword as the "Tier 2" offering for the campaign, clocking in at a nearly Titan-sized 23.5 inches to maintain show-accurate scale with the already 13.75 inch tall figure. Notably this bespoke mold (unrelated to 2016's similar update of the Master Sword) replaces the original's stickers with paint and molded detail. The blade needs 13,000 backers to enter production, and will ship to campaign backers in Fall 2025 if funded.
