After noticing an error in her latest manuscript, Kahori realizes she needs Satoko more than she thought.

Synopsis

[edit]

Satoko returns home for dinner, relieved that Kahori's latest manuscript has been making steady progress. Upon opening the door, she sees Kahori with her toys strewn across the floor, happily mixing-and-matching Headmasters, Titan Masters and Transtectors to find the coolest combinations while they interact with her new Fortress Maximus figure. Satoko berates her for wasting the day playing instead of finishing the manuscript, but Kahori claims that playing helps her escape writer's block, and that her work for the month is already done anyway. Unfazed, Satoko catches Kahori's hair with a vacuum and drags her back to her writing desk, reminding her that putting the work off now just means she'll be rushing to meet the next deadline.

Kahori resumes writing, feeling recharged after her "extended break", but upon reviewing the manuscript, she notices a catastrophic error: the plot of her story features the protagonist aided by the senior she doesn't get along with, but with the start of the new school year, he should have moved on to high school! Realizing there's not enough time to rewrite the whole thing without missing the deadline, Kahori starts to panic. But Satoko appears from the doorway and offers an ingenious solution: since Kahori wrote in a previous issue that the senior has a younger brother, the person who helps the protagonist can be a twin who spent a year abroad and is thus a year behind, creating potential drama when the two compete for her affections. She gives Kahori a notepad with all the details, and Kahori realizes that Satoko must have noticed the mistake long ago and brainstormed this new twist entirely on her own. Satoko admits that she realized this potential complication a month ago, but didn't want to slow Kahori down by having her constantly stop to fix errors as she found them.

A grateful Kahori begins making the correction, realizing how much of her story's narrative has been shaped by Satoko. In a moment of epiphany, she imagines Satoko flipping through the air and fastening herself to Kahori's body, becoming Kahori's Headmaster. The next morning, Kahori suggests Satoko become her "brain", believing the two could make an even better novel by putting their heads together. Satoko adamantly refuses, not wanting to jeopardize all she's worked for on such a risky suggestion, but ends up having to reassure Kahori, who now worries about the stability of being a novelist.
