Yūya Ōnishi

Yūya Ōnishi (大西裕弥 Ōnishi Yūya) is the current Designer Team Leader of TakaraTomy's Transformers product team.[1] He joined Takara in 2011.

Yūya Ōnishi was among the Transformer toy designers present at the Transformers Celebration 2014, where they handed out autographs. Legends Bonus Vol.
Notes
- Rather fittingly, Yūya Ōnishi was born in the year 1984, the same year the Transformers brand was first launched by Hasbro.
- When designing Transformers toys, Ōnishi makes a point to check out the real life equivalent of the figure's alternate mode for accurate reference, even visiting a zoo if the figure calls for a beast-based alternate mode.
- Ōnishi was personally responsible for the drawer in Kingdom Rodimus Prime's trailer, citing his commitment to accessory storage.
- According to his Hasbro counterpart Mark Maher, Ōnishi originally came up in car design.[12]
