Toys
Age of the Primes
- Junkion Jalopy (Deluxe Class, 2023)
- Accessories: Left & right engine block halves/blasters, left & right exhaust pipes, left & right thrusters
- Age of the Primes Jalopy is a redeco of Legacy Axlegrease, in turn a retooling of Scraphook, using the head from the Tow-Line tooling. They include Scraphook's exhaust pipe and Axlegrease's two thrusters that can be used as cannons, but don't come with a hook. Jalopy's vehicle engine block splits to form two blasters as well. As with the original mold, their lower elbow joints are made of a softer plastic, which often causes their arms to pop off when attempting to rotate or transform them, but they're just as easily reattached. Again, due to said softer plastic, it's generally impossible for him to wield medium-to-larger weapons unless the arms are raised horizontally to the front.
- Being a redeco/retool of the Scraphook/Axelgrease mold, Jalopy retains the Evo-Fusion function gimmick, analogous to the Weaponizer gimmick from the War for Cybertron Trilogy toylines: Jalopy's body splits apart to form armor and weapon enhancements for their allies. Unlike previous figures of this nature, Jalopy does not need to be disassembled to change from robot to vehicle and back, similar to other Legacy Junkions.
Notes
- Dave Edwards, aka "Zobovor", had a fan character named Jalopy, and was based on an incorrect Bluestreak-colored Jazz from the 12th issue of the Marvel Comics series. Therefore, when Jalopy's name appeared in the usual shady places where information on future toys surface, many in the fandom assumed it would be a toy of that character.
