Hound (SG)
| This article is about the evil Autobot. For his heroic counterpart, see Hound (G1). For a list of other meanings, see Hound (disambiguation). |
- Hound is an evil Autobot from the Shattered Glass continuity family.

Hound likes to proclaim himself as the "Master of Fear", using his Psycho-Projector to cause people to hallucinate their worst nightmares and incapacitate them with terror.
What he's truly a master of, however, is dissent and mutiny. Throughout the various changes in the Autobot ranks, Hound has managed to escape notice by remaining quiet and feigning apathetic disinterest. In secret, however, Hound has provided assistance to a number of attempted rebellions, including an attempted coup by Ultra Magnus, and being a secret supporter of the Old One, Alpha Trion. Ever since Trion was banished, Hound has been silently waiting for his return...
Ironically, Hound has his own deep-seated fears as much as anyone—organics and their filth scare the scrap out of him.

Later, when Rodimus and Goldbug had everyone whom they deemed too loyal to Optimus Prime thrown off the Ark, Hound jumped out of the ship voluntarily to avoid having to go to Earth. Hound has used his holograms to make it look like the Dinobots had torn him apart, faking his own death.

As a result, he was stuck hiding out with Remote Patrol Six. Hound teased Powerglide about being scared of flying, Powerglide protested that he wasn't, and proceeded to tease Hound about being afraid of Earth. This would've turned into a fight if Sandstorm hadn't mentioned that he had discovered a strange signal from Zone Y-AT. Hound refused to investigate it himself on account of his presumed death, and when Camshaft eagerly volunteered, Hound demanded he stay on watch and that someone else go. Camshaft confronted him about this, but Hound said that they needed to stick together and asked him to come up with a good excuse for not being dead. Hound recognized the zone and thought he might know what the signal meant, and considered coming out of hiding sooner than he planned... Do Over
Later, after Megatron was assassinated by one of Alpha Trion's agents, Hound and three members of Remote Patrol Six made their move, surrounding Optimus Prime, intending to kill him and install Rodimus in his place as Prime. Optimus gave the group a chance to walk away, suggesting that he might forget their betrayal, but the mutineers attacked him anyway. Unfortunately for the traitors, the Autobot leader plowed through his would-be assassins with ease and took care of Hound by flinging Warpath into him. Reunification: Part 5

Notes
[edit]- According to Hound's colorist, Drew Eiden, the basis for his color scheme was to "make it opposite colors but not make him simply Detritus." [1]
- His body is based on the Universe Deluxe Class Hound toy.
