Golder is a Beastformer from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Golder<ref>Spelling in English on Meiji trading card</ref> (ゴールダー Gōrudā) is one of White Leo's oldest friends, the pair having trained together in their youth. Golder shares Leo's fiery passion for justice, but lacks Leo's restraint. He is willing to push himself to his utmost limits for what he believes in, but he doesn't always think about what he's doing as much as he should. Once he's made up his mind, it takes a lot to dissuade him from even a bad plan of action.

And he can do quite a lot of damage when he gets on a tear. A melee combat expert, his teeth and jaws alone can rip through huge trees and shred metal. His MVP Weapon, the double-headed Baton-Gol (バトンゴール Baton Gōru) can expand and contract at will, and is strong enough to support incredible weight even when extended.

Following the Great War, he returned to his homeland of Gun Marino to rule as its Emperor under King Yellow Giraffe. The two are quite close, the elder Giraffe being one of the few who can calm and rein in Golder's impulses.

The Golders were a species of Beastformer. A Golder joined in Big Serow's attack on the Decepticon Beastformer stronghold, only to be shot down. He took the injury in stride, saving Yellow Giraffe from Snakebomb. He was shot down again, and the Beastformer force retreated. At the rebel Beastformer headquarters, the Golder was in better shape than the other injured Beastformers and offered to be an envoy to bring more reinforcements, but White Leo denied his request, not wanting to risk more soldiers.

Several Golders were in the crowd cheering the Autobots' arrival. Soon, inside the headquarters, one Golder polished his weapon.

A Golder joined White Leo's force to rescue the Beastformers that the Decepticons had kidnapped to use as slaves. Their efforts were not necessary, as they were rescued by Wheelie, Daniel, and the Monsterbots. Nevertheless, White Leo's force joined up with the freed slaves and saw the retreat of the Decepticon Transformers. Golder, among others, was menaced by Predaking and the Sharkticons, led by Alligatron. They were able to escape when Brainstorm and Highbrow distracted the giant combiner. Golder returned with White Leo and others; together, they were able to defeat the Decepticon Beastformers. The Decisive Battle of Planet Beast!

Legends comic

Golder took part in the final battle between the Beastformers and the Laser Beasts on Beast in 2023. He was stationed at Red Phoenix's base mode. The Road to Legends' Revival Chapter 1

Transformers: Beastformers

Part of the first series of Takara's Beastformers toys, Golder is an anthropomorphic tiger in brown robotic armor. The Battle Emblem on his chest reveals one of three symbols when warmed up; Fire, Water or Wood.
He usually comes with a silver double-club weapon marked with the same ID number as on his back. However, Beastformers is notorious for toys coming with someone else's weapon; it's unclear if this was just originally poor QC, but in the sequel series, this semi-random weaponry was actually turned into a "gimmick".
The Hasbro Battle Beasts release of the figure can vary in the tone of the brown paint used on its armor, with some samples being lighter and more matte, with slightly desaturated pink accents; it's uncertain if the Takara version has similar (minor) paint variation.
He was re-released in the second series; while the toy proper was not changed, the packaging and packed-in bio card was. The first-series release comes in a generic red-grid "Cybertron Beastformer" box, with a red-grid bio card with a painted character image on the front, though there was a random chance of his card being replaced by the rare "Holography Mirror" card. In series 2 he came in a green-grid generic "Cybertron Beastformer" box, with the bio card putting the painted image on a jungle backdrop. As he shipped in the "D Pack" case, there was a chance of his bio card being replaced with a rare "Bewitching Serpent Seal" card featuring Cobrander.

Many Beastformers were also sold in gashapon capsule machines for the same price as their boxed versions (200 yen) during the "RPG" line, Golder included. This version is identical to the regularly-released boxed version, including the randomized rubsign, except the gashapons appear to have randomized weapons (or just really crummy quality control).
According to their pack-in paperwork, fifteen rare all-white/cream Beasts were available in these capsules, though only four were shown; Golder is one of only twelve confirmed "rare types" found. These rare versions can vary in how white they actually are, and it's uncertain if that's how they started or if some have simply yellowed with age. These versions tend to be very expensive on the secondary market, going for $100+ even when missing their arms.

Re-released in the Transformers-less Beastformers sequel series, Golder was given a straight re-release in the "Beast Planet's Greatest Confrontation Set" (ビースト星最大の対決セット Bīsuto-sei Saidai no Taiketsu Setto), unchanged from his prior releases. He comes with a new, more filled-out bio card featuring comic-styled line-art instead of the painted art of the prior releases. This new card also gave his weapon, now branded an "MVP Weapon", the name "Baton-Gol".
This set also came with Platinum Tiger, Yellow Giraffe, and the Tiger Hunter (same as their prior releases), and the set-exclusive Laser Beasts Skullgrotes, Kingbuster, Salmomancer, and a chromed-gold Battle Drill.
This set is particularly expensive on the secondary market, given the entire Laser Beast half of the set is not available anywhere else.

A gold-foil "Battle Card" of Golder, featuring the painted character art from his Transformers: Beastformers bio card, was available in randomly-packed sets of cards that came with grape-flavored ramune candy tablets. The back of the card features a severely truncated bio, with data for the game from the Meiji chocoball SD figures' packaging.
Though this card shows line-art of a super-deformed Golder toy, no actual toy was ever produced.
